iBlog6: The Philippine Blogging Summit Aftermath

For the past years, I’ve been religiously attending the iBlog summits organized by the UP College of Law and Digital Filipino. Unfortunately, I only attended the Saturday afternoon session this year. This means that I missed some of the important talks (blame me for being a sleepyhead T_T)

At least I went still πŸ˜€ I entered the UP Malcolm Hall at 1:30PM. I saw Gee and Rommel, my PBBFG mates LOL.  I was able to catch Marck Rimorim aka Marocharim talk about Political Blogging in the Philippines. He gave a very nice talk wherein he emphasized on remembering the past, stating the present, planning for the future and going back to the past in writing blog entries related to the different issues in the Philippines.

Let's talk about relevant topics

Though I am not a political blogger and I have no plans of becoming one, I am thinking of applying the same principle on my upcoming showbiz articles for Parazzi LOL.

Noemi Dadi talks about the Significance of Social Media in the upcoming elections.

Tita Noemi, who often discussed about personal blogging in the past, now promotes BlogWatch, which is a project of different political bloggers who are on the lookout for the latest updates about the upcoming elections. I am not sure if Purple is the official mommy blogger color that day, but I noticed that even Tita Dine and Tita Rhoda were wearing Purple πŸ˜›

Maki, Cai and Mica = Powerpuff Philippine Flag

Maki, Cai and Mica = i.PH Powerpuff Girls (para kaming Philippine Flag LOL)

During the short break, I bonded with Maki (whom I first met offline at iBlog4), Hannah (who talked about Blogging 101 this year), Tita Rhoda, Gem (Dagupan reprezent lols) and Tita Dine, the sexiest mommy blogger in the world πŸ˜› Cai went too and left immediately πŸ˜›

Batang Baler

Joseph Gonzales' shares the impact of blogging in the community

BatangBaler’s talk about the impact of blogging to the community is entertaining. He was able to present his lecture with humor and information. I bet the sleepyheads in the venue paid attention to his talk. Hmmm… I guess adding an image of women in bikinis help? Hehehe.

The last but not the least speaker is Marhgil Macuha. He is one of the most popular SEO practitioners in the Philippines and I heard a lot of good things about him as far as Search Engine Optimization is concerned. I listened to his talk and I am applying everything he discussed and so far, it’s working!

The summit ended with the usual raffle. Too bad I wasn’t given a raffle stub and I didn’t have my iBlog6 shirt this year πŸ™ Sayang, loved the logo pa naman hehehe πŸ˜› We had the class picture and photo-ops with some bloggers:

After iBlog6, Maki and I went straight to the Isaw area. I bought 10 sticks of bulaklak and taba ng baboy. Yumyum!

We waited for the rest and went straight to Mang Inasal – Jupiter for Dinner then Rockeoke Night at Music21. That deserves a separate blog entry πŸ™‚

I would like to congratulate all the people behind the success of iBlog6. Looking forward to iblog7! Hurray! πŸ˜€

Its my first time in iBlog this year and Im overwhelmed with the no.of people. I believe I was on your right side seating during the afternoon part (with an empty seat in the middle) and I was about to say hi but then I was real shy. I saw you in wordcamp 09 as well I believe. πŸ™‚
