I think we can all agree retiring in Florida is the dream spot for just about everyone. There are so many cities that offer such great environments. It is not a secret once you hit the age of 65 you begin to fantasize about Florida. 

Many people over the age of 60 move here after retiring. It is in the top 10 of the most tax-friendly states. This means there is no income tax.

Other than the money factors, Florida is beautiful. The so many beaches, bars, and restaurants you can go to really describe the state as a whole.

There are plenty of cities to think about when trying to find the right party spot, but there are even more cities to think about when retiring. 

Fort Lauderdale 

The city of Fort Lauderdale is known for its beaches and canals. It is a very popular vacation spot for people of all ages, and even a better place to retire. 

The city has been a popular place to retire for decades and is a growing cultural community. It is an easy drive to Miami or even West Palm beach!

Tampa

Tampa is a really great option to choose when looking for a place to retire here. It is a beautiful city along Florida’s Gulf coast. 

One of the main reasons people over 55 tend to move here is because there are plenty of housing options available. It is very easy for someone over 55+ to find a neighborhood specifically for their age in this city. 

The city is known for its museums and other cultural offerings. This way even being 55+ you will never get bored here.

Fort Myers 

Fort Myers is one of the best places to retire in Florida. The largest demographic is the city’s residents aged between 65-84 so you know many people enjoy moving here.

North of the city is a really great place to move to if you do not want to be in a big city anymore. It is more of a suburban area that is just a short drive to the big city!

The city, in general, has a relaxed atmosphere which most residents seem to enjoy. Retiring here is definitely one of the cities you need to consider.
