Making History at the Cebu Blog Camp 2010

“Cebu Blog Camp Hangover” - That’s my status in Facebook, Plurk and Twitter yesterday. Just like the rest of the Cebu Campers who attended the first ever Cebu Blog Camp, I still can’t blog in a straight news way. I will try anyway. Or maybe not.

Nah, I'm not singing. I'm narrating my blog story here! :P

Nah, I'm not singing. I'm narrating my blog story here! :P

For the sixth time in nine months, I found myself stepping at the Mactan International Airport last Friday. I am back in the Queen City of the South for the Cebu Blog Camp 2010. I was invited by Winston to speak about the Basics of Blogging and I immediately said yes when he mentioned about it months ago. I was sick and sleepless when I arrived, so I went straight to my hotel room to have a nap – which resulted to six hours of sleep 0_0. I missed the trip to Maribago Beach Resort because of that, so I went straight to Ayala Mall instead to finalize my presentation for the talk the next day.

So Saturday is the big day! I wasn’t able to sleep and I looked like a zombie when I ate my breakfast. I am thankful that Ate Ria was there and she did my make-up for that morning :D I am not really into make-ups and stuff, that’s why I am glad that Ate Ria was more than willing to help me look like a normal person for my talk teehee.

Lopez Museum celebrates 50th anniversary

Way back in high school, my classmates and I almost made it to the Lopez Museum as a part of the educational field trip. Too bad it was axed out from the itinerary the last minute due to some undisclosed reasons. I remember one of my classmates got really depressed since he’s into paintings, arts and the works.

Unfolding Half a Century of Lopez Memorial Museum and Library

Unfolding Half a Century of Lopez Memorial Museum and Library

I passed through the Lopez Link site awhile ago and I found out that the team is gearing up for a very special project as Lopez Museum celebrates 50th anniversary on February 18. It is a good opportunity for Museum lovers to take advantage of this celebration as a lot of programs are in-stored to the delight of the visitors.

The best-selling author will launch his new book entitled The Power to Change Everything. He will also give a short lecture about his new book that will surely inspire the Kabbalah believers. The book was first launched in the US last November 9, though Yehuda Berg chose the Philippines for its first Asian release due to the tragedy we had gone through in the past few months.

The Power to Change Everything  is said to focus more on how our consciousness and our actions shapes determine the quality of our lives, and the condition of our world.

According to Yehuda, the world has reached a turning point in history and we can either choose to change, or remain the same and watch things get worse. Our short-term thinking and lack of awareness of personal power is wreaking havoc on the planet. It is the reason why he wrote the book The Power to Change Everything – which deals with our problems related to the environment, religion, politics, economy and our blind spots.

While the whole Philippines were stuck at home for the most-anticipated Pacquiao – Cotto match, a few bloggers and techies went to World Trade Center at Pasay to attend the iBlogMini, which is a part of the 2009 Consumer Electronics Live. I was able to attend the last day of CEL last year at SM MoA and I enver thought that I’d be a part of it this year.

Me singing? Nah. I'm talking about the Basics of Blogging here =P

Me singing? Nah. I'm talking about the Basics of Blogging here =P

I was tasked to discuss about the Basics of Blogging or Blogging 101. Since I did a talk with AJ Matela last May for iBlog5, I just added some last minute changes at the slide presentation. I simply discussed about the definition, reasons to blog, types of blogs (according to form and genre), the 4 C’s of setting up a blog and random tips and advice for the new bloggers.
