Wow. It’s 2010 already? I can’t believe that I am now trying my very best to write a blog entry about 2009. I remember writing my 2008 Year Ender post the other year with some disappointments related to my career (Being jobless at Christmas Day gives you a week of weakness, I swear!). I thought it’s the end of the world for me (uhm, not really. I’m a fighter, baby!). I am happy to inform you though that I started 2009 with much enthusiasm and ended it with a big smile on my face.
It was in January where I finally decided to push through with my passion in film making. With the script I worked on during my stay at Sinelab, I managed to talk to some of my blogger friends to help me out with my first film entitled Kuya Bunso. With Jehzeel and Cai and the rest of the Nyoks, I did push through with my first film in a limited budget. I really can’t believe I was able to write, produce and direct the film. I wanted to join a short film festival that time, but I didn’t anticipate the fact that post-production is the most expensive and time-consuming part. My 24 minute debut film made me cry when i first saw it. I mean, yeah. I really cried T_T. I owned a new phone too and took a lot of camwhore pics with the nyoks. I bought a lot of domains that month which proved that i am an impulsive domain buyer lolz π
February is still Singles Awareness Month for me. I attended a lot of blog events, saw a number of movies, fought cervical cancer (or at least i participated in a fight against it), videoke with Singko andΓΒ attended a party for singles on VDay. I also worked on my blogs and I am now enjoying the fruits of my labor (nyahaha). It was also in February wherein a joined the Pinoy Parazzi family. I never got tired of chismax eversince.
(The photo above was taken sometime in January. I used it for March because i want to LOL)
March is the SEO month. I met up with a number of SEO practitioners based in Pangasinan (how come i didn’t know they existed? what a shame huhu) through Tita Janette. I also tried my luck in SEO by joining the Tnomeralc Web Design Toys with Winston. As I browse my March entries now, I realized that I wrote a number of Emo entries LOL. SEO and EMO combined is made of win. SABI?!?
April is a pretty memorable one for me. I spent most of my time with the Nyoks. April Fools’ Day with Jehz and Maki at Krispy Kreme, Trip to Marikina, Avilon Fail and much more. I got the chance to know Kuya Drew better too and I am his kaladkarin friend for the month π It also celebrated my brother’s 14th birthday with a Spagetti meal π I think it was also in April wherein a launched The Box of Happiness, supposedly my Happy Blog. I might not renew the domain this time since I failed to update that one regularly.Oh yes, I had my first company with the Pinoy Parazzi family and I started writing regularly for the paper much to the delight of the fans (charot! haha)
May is my birth month! May is a pretty hectic month. We won at the Tnomeralc Web Design Toys challenge (SEO Expert kuno LOL). I celebrated my 22nd birthday with HS buddies and blogger bestie. I was invited to speak atΓΒ the iBlog5 with AJ Matela. Dream come true for me π I met Van, Bryan and the rest of the Cebu bloggers as well. Went to Enchanted Kingdom after four years. I experienced how it feels like to be a kid again. A friend also invited me to watch Jennylyn Mercado’s Birthday Concert (Oh yes, I’m a Starstruck fan and I will never deny that! :P) . Pinoy Parazzi gave out tickets for the much-anticipated David Cook vs. David Archuleta concert. I also attended the Cinemalaya Cinco press conference and told myself that I will also be interviewed there in the upcoming years as one of the contenders. Sana π Wait, did i mention that May is also a scandalous month? T_T
June is the month of independence and inspiration (nuks naman LOL!). I went back to Dagupan for a three day weekend off. After fifteen years, I managed to ride in a plane with Lolo, Lola and Maire for our free trip to Boracay courtesy of SEAIR (thank you thank you!). I fell in love with Boracay, really. Recorded my own version of Careless Whisper with Jeff a.k.a. The Singing Blogger (whom i truly love!) and wrote the script of The 12th of June inspired by what happened to me on the 20th of June. Nice. π
Attended a lot of blog events in July. I ate a lot as well. Basta. Lakwatsera mode LOL π I also attended the one week Cinemalaya Film Festival at CCP. Too bad I wasn’t able to watch all the full-length films. After attending the festival, I told myself that I will work on an entry for 2010 (I’m hoping real hard that i’d pursue this! PUSH ME!!!!). And yeah, i shot my second short film entitled ‘The 12th of June’ Starring my good friend, Jade Lopez π Thanks to all my blogger friends who supported me in this project. You guys know who you are. π
August is the month when my lakwatsera persona flourished (me ganun?! LOL!). Thanks to the Kemboteras of Cebu (Eric, Shena, Aaron, Bong and Sinjin) for making my Sugbu dream a memorable one! I also met up with Gelo, McBilly and the rest of the Cebu Bloggers Society members. I went to La Union a week after for the Let’s Go Surfing event organized by Jonel. Now I know why Hannah and Ed loves to surf. Iba yung feeling eh. Basta LOL. I wrote a script after the trip and I am hoping to shoot it this month with another blogger friend playing the lead role. Yes, I met KUYA LUKE LANDRIGAN :PΓΒ Patay Gutom was recognized as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009 :DΓΒ August is a hella rollercoaster ride for me in terms of my non-existent lovelife. Don’t ever dare ask me to elaborate on that or else… wala lang lol π
September is the lakwatsera month. I went back to Cebu for the second time. It is extra special this time since I went there with the Nyoks! We had our own version of city tour, food tour and cinema tour (sino ang pumunta ng Cebu para manood ng Kimmy Dora?! ). September is full of drama and comedy π Two weeks after, I found myself at the beautiful beach of Boracay with Winston and Xef. Island Hopping, Fruitshakes, Music, Food, Fun, Sand and more! I realized just now that I went to Cebu and Boracay twice this year and the second time both fell on September lulz π I launched Senyorita, my travel blog (which was also last updated that month. FAIL!) Uhm wait. Lola had her heart operation this month and Ondoy almost killed our office T_T.
October is a special month for me as a blogger. Micamyx was awarded as the Blogger’s Choice in the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards. I also joined the PBA Visayas Leg (thus my third time in Cebu! Sawa na ako LOL). Collaborated with my grandfather as well for the Pringles entry and eventually became my ticket to the Nuffnang Blog Awards! I am happy because I was able to go to Singapore with Jehz, Maki, Hannah, Ada and the rest of the Nuffnang PH bloggers. It was a memorable trip for me because of our own adventures and misadventures in the cleanest country in whole wide world π I also appeared at the Bloggers Digest segment of QTubeΓΒ π Oh wait. I also experienced Siderodromophobia on the 31st of October.
November is a bittersweet month. The first week was made of fail, but the succeeding days was made of win! Patay Gutom was recognized as the Best Food Site at the Digital Filipino Web Awards (FlairCandy and MyBruteCheats won at the Personal and Games category respectively). I went to the launch of The Lounge – the bar and resto owned by Hayden Kho. Got the chance to speak about Blogging 101 at the iBlogMini @CEL. I also earned a lot of moolah from my blogs. In short, my hardwork paid off π I wrote a number of concepts as well for future projects.
Merry and Busy December – I went to Dagupan, Davao, Pampanga, Tagaytay and Subic! That’s five provinces in one month! The homecoming to Dagupan is short but sweet. I met up with old friends from school and was able to go out with my lovable cousins and of course, my grannies π Davao Trip is the best! Met the members of Avatar Media and some Davao-based bloggers. Sarap pala sa Davao! I need to write a longer blog entry about it. Thanks to Ate Ria and Babe Drew for making my Davao trip extra special π Pampanga for the Misa de Gallo event of Kraft and Geiser Maclang. Tagaytay Plurklakbayan is also made of win since I managed to take a lot of pictures using my LX3. I spent my New Years’ Eve at Subic – reminiscing and feeling like a child again. All these December travels deserves longer entries and i will work on it once i have the time! December is also the month for Christmas Parties ( Digital Filipino, Blog4 Reviews, Pinoy Parazzi, Rodriguez Family etc). The Sweeties Aileen and Jay also tied the knot (finally!). I got my biggest adsense payout too and bought an LX3 which i eventually named Judd π Yepyep, The filmmaker in me also flourished this month as my films Kuya Bunso and The 12th of June participated at Tomato Bomb’s Eksena π
Whew! 2009 was definitely my year in terms of family, career, friends and life in general. Only my lovelife sucked. Oh well. That fact is acceptable. As what the oldies say, you can’t really have it all in the same time. I am excited for 2010 though as I am about to turn 23. As far as my mom, bestfriends and aunts are concerned, turning 23 is also a ‘turning point’ in the love field. Let’s see what is in-store for me heart on 2010. Nyaherr. Excited much? π
Though 2009 has its ups and downs, I consider myself lucky and blessed. I can’t really be THAT emo now because too many good things happened in my life and I am hoping it will continue this year. I’ll be writing my goals for 2010 later π
How about you? How did 2009 treat you? What are your plans for 2010?
