Ipanema echo-chic Gisele Bündchen Seeds Collection
“I went to Ipanema last February 19”.
Nah, I’m not talking about the beautiful place in Brazil. I’m talking about the launch of Ipanema echo-chic Gisele Bündchen Seeds Collection at Le Souffle, The Fort. Several bloggers were invited in the elegant event.

The Philippine Ballet Theater gave a long yet wonderful performance with them modeling the newest Ipanema flipflops.
Women with Brave Hearts Shoots Cervical Cancer
Last Saturday, I got the chance to meet some of the members of Bravehearts, an NGO that aims to raise awareness on cervical cancer prevention in the Philippines.

A number of bloggers were invited for an intimate lunch meet-up. Romina, the ever kikay yet tough girl who invited me to this empowering event, served as the emcee that afternoon. She gave a little overview on Bravehearts like their past activities, tie-ups, celebrity endorsers and some of their future plans.

The bubbly Romina of Bravehearts gave an overview about the group
To be honest with you, I don’t really know much on Cervical Cancer. I just found out that Cervical Cancer is actually the second most common cancer among Filipino women! This means that we girls must not only worry on the possibility of having breast cancer (the top most common cancer among women all over the world). The good news here is it’s never too late to undergo treatment or vaccination.

Dr. Becky Singson gave a talk on Cervical Cancer prevention
Dr. Becky Singson gave a short talk on the Cause, Stages and Prevention of Cervical Cancer among women. The talk made me realize that in the country, only a few is aware of the facts presented to us that afternoon. Thr group is planning to have regular screenings in different places in the Philippines. They’re also planning to conduct a number of blogger events which can help raise awareness about the group and how to prevent cervical cancer which are SVA, Cryotherapy and Vaccination (will tackle more on these on another blog entry to be posted soon).

Every Kick Counts: A Click to Literacy
Books are not always the building blocks of education. In this modern age, learning can start with a single click.
This is the principle that propelled Every Click Counts, an initiative spearheaded by dietary supplements global leader Nutrilite. As a brand in the business of improving people’s lives, this effort is Nutrilite’s contribution to support children’s literacy in the Philippines.
“Every Click Counts is Nutrilite’s way of reaching out to the community outside of its own,” says Joy Andres-Villareal, Product Manager of Nutrilite. “The Internet is a very powerful medium and there’s no better way to maximize its potential than to support an advocacy like this.
By logging on to the site www.everykickcounts.com, internet users around the globe can contribute $ 0.15 to the Amway One by One campaign, a project that promotes children’s welfare worldwide. This will be given to the country of the website visitor to support their chosen organization. In this case, Nutrilite will use the funds to aid Philippines One by One Campaign for Children which is geared towards increasing literacy among Filipino kids.

Blog Action Day Post : Special Children, Noontime Shows and Poverty
Last month, I was able to attend the MEDICAL FESTIVAL 2008 by Super Olympics, an international organization created by the Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation for the benefit of persons with Intellectual Disabilities. The event took place last September 12, 2008 at SM Mall of Asia – SMX. Approximately, more than a thousand special children participated the event.
I went there as a one of the representatives of the Ike and Nena Belo Foundation. I was assigned to bring with me Rochelle Pangilinan (Eat Bulaga, Daisy Siete) and Valerie Concepcion (Wowowee, Banana Split).
When I first entered the hall, I saw a variety of faces of different people with intellectual disabilities. Some of the, brought there moms and nannies with them. They also came from different families with different financial status.
