Richard Gutierrez is everywhere nowadays. For weeks now, he’s been busy promoting his new film entitled ‘Seduction’, which serves as Regal Films’ opening Salvo for 2013. The movie is the movie comeback project of veteran director Peque Gallaga. It is a sexy-drama full of love, lust and desire.

The Seduction of Richard Gutierrez

Chard started out as a child actor (together with his twin brother Raymond, who is a successful TV host now). He took a brief hiatus from showbiz and emerged as one of the most important homegrown talents of the Kapuso network. He was re-introduced via the Saturday teen-oriented show, Click. I remember his character name was Enzo and he was paired with Mimi (played by Chynna Ortaleza). Can you still remember who his twin sister in the show is? Yep, Angel Locsin as Charley. As an avid viewer of the show way back, I wished they never casted Richard and Angel as siblings because they’d make a good onscreen couple.

Maybe the executives of GMA-7 figured out that Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin can make a good loveteam that’s why they tapped the two emerging stars to play the roles of Aguiluz and Alwina in Mulawin. I can say that that ‘ChardGel’ loveteam is still the most successful loveteam produced by GMA-7. Although they’re both romantically linked with other people way back, their onscreen chemistry is just the best. I’ve seen all of their movies and I was kind of upset when Angel Locsin decided to move to the rival network.

Leading man, it’s time to step up your game!

For years now, Richard Gutierrez is considered as the main leading man of the Kapuso network. He stars in at least one or two primetime shows yearly, he appears as a leading man to lucky ladies on the Valentines movie offering of GMA Films and he’s got a number of endorsements under his belt. For years, Chard kept on doing action series on TV and romantic comedies on films. It came to the point wherein he needed to do something different because he became predictable.

While his contemporaries Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo bravely took the risk in accepting challenging roles in TV and Films, Richard’s been on the safe side. It is good to be safe, yet being too safe can be dangerous too. Fans want something more from you as time passes by. What else can you offer?

If I remember it right, a leading man from the Kapamilya network was originally considered for the role of ‘Ram’ in ‘Seduction’. Eventually, the project went to Richard. It is a perfect opportunity for Richard to finally bare not only some skin, but to show that he had grown and that he can do better! Time to step up your game, man!

Seducing real-life girlfriend Sarah Lahbati

In Seduction, Richard plays an offbeat character. His fans might find be shocked with some of his lines and scenes from the movie (based on the exclusive clips shown on the movie presscon). He shared the lead credits with the sexy Solenn Heussaff and with real-life girlfriend Sarah Lahbati. Because of the current controversies haunting Sarah Lahbati, Richard and Solenn does all the promotions by visiting festivals, mall tours, tv guestings and many more.

I really wish ‘Seduction’ will do good in the cinemas once it is shown nationwide. Seriously, this is a make or break project for the favorite Kapuso leading man. I cannot blame the moviegoers if they have doubts in supporting this film because like what I mentioned earlier, Richard and Sarah are facing some intrigues now. It can either do good or bad in the promotion of the film. I am confident though that reviews and word of mouth will eventually convince movie lovers to buy a ticket and watch…. and unleash their own fantasies lol 😛
