2010: Traveling and Enjoying Life to the Fullest!

Last year, i mentioned on my ‘Myx-ed 2010 Goals‘ that I’ll try my very best to go to England on my own. I was half serious about it and since going to any European country from the Philippines is not an easy one (with the visa application and the expensive airfare), i am very happy to say that i am now blogging from our home here in Rugby, Warwickshire in England πŸ˜€

Ending the year @ Winter Wonderland

2010 is the year of travel for me. I’ve been to different provinces (mostly first time), five countries and i became a bit more open-minded with a lot of stuff related to traveling and life in general. Like what i mentioned in one of my previous posts,”Life is a journey – Go and travel’. πŸ™‚

I’ll try to summarize my 2010 by month. Starting another yearender post makes me smile and thankful πŸ™‚

Cast and Crew of 'Positive'

JANUARY – I started the year with a ‘Positive’  project. I shot my third short film entitled ‘POSITIVE‘, which is all about a married promiscuous woman who is about to face to consequences of her actions. I think this is my most serious project to date and i am really happy with the outcome. I also started a new video blog called ‘PROJECT52WEEKS’, wherein i originally planned to record 52 short videos in 52 weeks. I admit i had a number of backlogs, but i am catching up πŸ™‚ I also went back to Cebu for the 4th time with Bong and Winston. I was able to visit Plantation Bay for the first time, visited the famous Mactan Shrine, went up to Mountain View at night with awesome company (thanks Doyzkie for the ride!) and yes, spotted Manny Villar at SM Cebu Haha πŸ˜€ Oh yes, Judd and Carlos initiated Monday Rockeoke nights at Mag:NET. I miss that.

Solemn Batangas Trip with ex-officemates

FEBRUARY – Just like in 2008 and 2009, February is still ‘Single Awareness Month’ for me hahaha πŸ˜€ I attended a number of music events and if i’m not mistaken, i was more in touch with my ‘creative’ side that month. I wrote a number of summaries for possible projects but then it never reached the production stage. I attended the Hot Air Balloon Festival at Clark, Pampanga. It was a memorable experience because we were all sleepy, tired yet we managed to have fun. Winston even won in a contest in a ‘pacham’ way πŸ˜€ I also took a lot of videos forP52W and we were all addicted to it. Together with the Sweeties, Winston, Drew and I went to Tagaytay one weekend. I also had a mini-outing with my former co-workers from Belo. San Juan, Batangas trip ftw!

Crucify me with more blessings...

MARCH – This month is the start of my addiction to travelling. Ada, Shena and I went to Puerto Princesa to spend 4D/3N there. We didn’t have any hotel reservations and we didn’t know what to expect LOL. I learned that spontaneous is more fun! It was a memorable trip because of the island hopping tour, food festival (lamon lamon lamon girls!) and nature appreciation. A week after, I went to Cebu (again!) with other travel bloggers to stay at Maribago Beach Resort for two nights with a Cebu Heritage Walk Tour and to the wonderful Sumilon Island Resort. While going there, Ka Bino brought us to seven churches (Visita Iglesia). It was nice to explore the Southern part of Cebu in that way. Instead of asking for more wishes, i ended up thanking Him for all the blessings he had bestowed to me and my family. It was a rewarding experience πŸ˜€ We ended up staying overnight at Dumaguete City because the plane left us LOL πŸ˜›  Two weeks after, I found myself with the same set of bloggers at Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club.

Macau Fun!

APRIL – MACAU MACAU MACAU! I went to Macau with Ada, Maki and Shena. Now i know how it feels like to feel lost but still calm in a foreign land πŸ˜› Again, another unplanned trip with no itineraries. We ended up researching when we were already in our hotel room. Wait, I spent the Holy Week vacation in Dagupan City, my hometown. I ended up staying in a hotel because i just decided last minute that i want to go back ‘home’ to write a screenplay intended for a contest. I finally fulfilled that high school dream of staying in the most popular hotel in Dagupan hehe πŸ˜› I also watched a number of indie films, attended iBlog6 (six years na!), received our long-delayed High School Year Book (after six years haha) and i witnessed the fire thingy at Edsa Shangri-la Mall.

The Surprise Kiddie Party by the Nyoks and Sweeties πŸ˜€

MAY – My Nyok Friends granted my wish of having a Kiddie Party at McDonalds LOL. I don’t really like surprises especially if i planned out something for that day, but this was an exception. Nakakatuwa what happened prior to that haha i didn’t really see it coming πŸ˜› I finally joined the Davao Food Appreciation Tour for the first time and it was a real fun one! (Kain, Tours, Physical Activities yehey!). I went back to Cebu (again LOL) as a speaker to the first ever Cebu Blog Camp, which turned out to be a big success πŸ˜€ I am so proud of the organizers especially Winston. I went to the Pahiyas Festival too πŸ˜€  What else? Oh, i got more reasons to love Krispy Kreme when somebody mistook me as a franchise owner LOL. πŸ˜€

Sleeping alone in a room for two

JUNE – My first ever Manila Film Showing + Pasta Buffet at Penpen Resto πŸ˜€ I’m thankful to my friends who made it possible. I organized one primarily as a campaign for YourIndieFilm.com Online Film Festival where ‘The 12th of June’ was recognized as one of the Top 10 Films. I may not have grabbed the top prize, but the fact that as of today it is the top viewed film, i feel like a winner already πŸ˜› I met Akihiro Sato for the first time at a spa event. Who would have thought he’d be proclaimed as the first Survivor Philippines Celebrity Edition Winner? I also embarked a solo trip to Baguio City just because my Microtel 50% Discount Card is about to expire and i wanted to try to Victory De Luxe Bus. Oh yes, i wanted to escape from Manila.

Hopia and Noodle Party on a Plane

JULY – I started the month at Dagupan City, my beloved hometown. Stayed at our new house there for the first time and i was able to hangout with my grandparents and some friends. I also went back to Puerto Princesa and stayed at Microtel Puerto Princesa, my favorite among all Microtel chains in the country πŸ™‚ Also experienced my first party on a plane LOLOLOL πŸ˜› Visited the Manila Ocean Park for the first time and the Nyoks had a night swimming cheverloo at the condo too πŸ˜€

PROJECT52Weeks recognized πŸ˜€

AUGUST – First AirAsia Flight! Together with Erik and Winston, we embarked on a trip to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. As usual, the trip comprised of too much eating and gallivanting πŸ˜› I think i found another home at Lavender Lodge hehe πŸ˜€ I went back to Cebu (again, again and again) because i want to and i was bored teehee. I also guested at TekTokTV for the first time with Ada. I also ranted about Having Babies and joined the SEAIR-Microtel Boracay Bloggers Tour contest. Luckily, i won πŸ˜› Also, my Project52Weeks video blog was recognized as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2010. Thank you for supporting my addiction πŸ˜€

Ziplining woohoo!

SEPTEMBER – This is the turning point of my career haha πŸ˜€ I went to General Santos originally for the Tuna Festival, but the organizers moved it to the third week, but we had no reasons to cry. The Fab sisters Avel and Orman organized a jampacked tour for us and we are more than thankful because they welcomed us with open arms and made our stay worthwhile πŸ˜€ I went to Boracay a week after with 7 other travel bloggers for the SEAIR-Microtel Boracay Tour. That was a fun experience because i met new friends, ate a lot, swam at one of the best beaches in the world and the fire dance! My eagerness to learn poi dance was relived. At the same time, we’ll keep tracking treasure down… πŸ™‚

With HS Buddies in Camiguin

OCTOBER – Travel Fun Month! I went to CDO-Camiguin with my high school buddies Kenjo, Maire and Ruby. It felt great that i finally managed a trip with three of the individuals who knew me since i was in secondary school. The smiles in their faces were priceless πŸ™‚ I went straight to San Fernando, LA Union with travel bloggers and writers to visit Thunderbird Resorts at Poro Point. It felt like we were spending 3D/2N at Santorini, Greece πŸ˜› I went back to Dagupan City to attend another event and went back to Manila for the 50th Wedding Anniversary of my grandparents at Manila Polo Club. It was a memorable night. If only my father was there to witness this… or was he there? πŸ˜› We went to Pico de Loro in Nasugbu, Batangas a day after and i went straight to Davao to visit PAGASA at the Philippine Eagle National Park, bought too many kikay stuff (i blame ate ria, brendel and donna! :P) and ate too much. Eat, Eat and Eat in Davao for the Halloween! I also joined the Haagen Dazs Melting Me Slowly because of a cab driver that made me really mad. Guess what? I won πŸ˜› πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

i love them πŸ™‚

NOVEMBER – November. Whew. The month i processed a lot of papers and felt too stressed and unloved (unloved, what? HAHA). The Project Pangasinan finally pushed through. Thanks to Anton and the rest of the travel bloggers, the fun trip finally pushed through. It was my dream to bring some bloggers in the Pangasinan and let them discover our beloved Province’s beauty. We went to Alaminos, Bolinao, Dagupan and Lingayen. The friendship built within the participants is something genuine πŸ˜€ Ada and I went to Coron, Palawan as our prize from Haagen Dazs (thank you thank you!). We also went to Iloilo supposedly for the Visayas Blogging Summit haha we ended up having our own pacham tour πŸ˜› We went straight to Guimaras too and found out that there’s something more than the ripe mangoes. Guimaras is paradise.

That's mini me jumping at Cardiff, Wales

DECEMBER – I tried to relax a bit at the first week and finally embarked on an 18 hours Manila-Dubai-Birmingham trip via Emirates. I’m glad that the airline served good food i ended up eating a lot πŸ˜› The trip was fun for me because i was seated in the aisle. I am finally here in the UK! I was able to go to Rugby (where we are staying now), Coventry, Birmingham, London (my favorite city) and in Cardiff, Wales. Now i know how it feels like to live in a postcard (will elaborate on this later on). My first White Christmas too with my Mom and my brother <3. I was also a finalist at the Philippine Blog Awards Best Personal Blog Category and Best VideoBlog Category. <3

WOW! Whatta great year! I traveled a lot, my tummy grew bigger, met new friends, reunited with my family but with a non-existent lovelife still πŸ˜› That part can wait haha :))

I would like to thank everyone who made my 2010 special. May we all succeed in life, stay safe, healthy and forever happy! More positive vibes for 2011! πŸ˜€

I will link the related articles later. πŸ˜€ I think i only blogged 40% of my 2010 travel adventures. I’ll try to work on it πŸ˜€
