Watch out for Cinemalaya Cinco!

Last Thursday, I was fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the five bloggers to cover the Cinemalaya 2009 press conference. I am seriously a big fan of Filipino Independent Movies and I am a supporter of these films which i believe must be patronized by the public as most of these works are based on the “real” side of the Philippines and its people. Some of my favorite Cinemalaya films are Endo and 100.

Cinemalaya 2009 – Candelabra (The Candle Holder)

I am happy to see a number of mainstream actors such as Alfred Vargas, Glaiza de Castro, Angel Aquino and Dennis Trillo participate in this year’s festival. It’s about time they used their acting capabilities and star power to promote the films that are worth watching.

Cinemalaya 2009 – Ang Kapatid Kong Nagpupumilit Makita si Ricky Davao

In this year’s festival, expect a movie depicting the streets of Manila, life of a policeman, a crazy family, vigilant killings and more.

Interested now, eh? Better save your money and mark your calendars. I tell you – this year’s Cinemalaya is worth seeing.

Special thanks to Gibbs Cadiz for the inviting me to the press conference and yes, to the one week screening! This is a dream come true for me LOL 😀

I will watch and observe THIS festival and hopefully, my dream of becoming one of the finalistS will come true by next year LOL
