How Geri Halliwell Broke My Heart

Ginger Spice leaves the Spice Girls?! WHAT?!

On 31 May 1998, Halliwell announced her departure from the Spice Girls. Through her solicitor (i.e. attorney) she stated: “Sadly I would like to confirm that I have left the Spice Girls. This is because of differences between us. I’m sure the group will continue to be successful and I wish them all the best.”

“PS: I’ll be back”.

It’s been fourteen years, but I can still remember how broken-hearted I was when Geri Halliwell a.k.a. Ginger Spice left the Spice Girls. Why leave the group? Why fail your fans? Why fail me?

What’s Your Favorite Film? SPICE WORLD THE MOVIE!

In early 1998, there were rumours spreading around that Victoria Adams (now Beckham) is planning to leave the group to start a new family. Geri is considered as the leader of the group. Being the oldest and the main advocate of the ‘Girl Power’ tag, I didn’t expect that she will leave the group. I know how ambitious she was and how determined she is to make her dreams come true. I know her humble beginnings to her frustrations while growing up and finally getting that big break to be a part of the most successful girlband in the world. HOW COULD YOU?! I looked up to you yet you did this to me and the rest of your loyal fans from all over the world. You betrayed us πŸ™

The Reunion – The Rebirth of Barkada Movies

Just finished watching the movie ‘The Reunion‘ under Star Cinema. The new barkada movie features four of ABS-CBN’s fast-rising leading men namely Xian Lim, Enrique Gil, Kean Cipriano and Enchong Dee. To spice things up, beautiful ladies Jessy Mendiola, Megan Young, Bangs Garcia and Julia montes are included in the cast. Cristine Reyes also had a short but important appearance in the film.

The Reunion – Are barkada movies finally back for good?

Before Star Cinema became the Rom-Com Hub of Philippine movies, they used to produce a number of barkada films. Even Viva and Regal have some barkada movies under their belt (Thanks to TGIS and GIMIK barkada, I guess LOL). It is nice to know that Star Cinema came up with this film and what made it more special is the fact that they featured a lot of Eraserheads songs in the movie.

Cinemalaya 2012 Awards Night Photos and Highlights

The Cinemalaya Film Festival 2012 ended last Sunday with the awards night. I can say that this year’s line-up is just as good as last year (or even better!). When you ask the moviegoers who were able to watch the films, they have different answers on which among the competing films are their top three favorites. I was able to watch only a few films this year.

Cinemalaya Film Festival 2012 Winners

Despite the unstable weather, the Cinemalaya Awards Night pushed through at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. I went straight to CCP from Trinoma with Enrico and as expected, the awards night started late. I’m just happy that in the lobby area, Eddie Garcia was there talking to the fans and entertains everyone who were asking for photo ops and autographs. Iba ka talaga, Manoy! πŸ˜€

Eddie Garcia

Eddie Garcia entertains his fans at the CCP Main Lobby. Who wouldn’t love him?

Instead of 6:30, the show started at past 8PM. Ciara Sotto did a short presentation about indie film movie fans.

I will just narrate everything via photostory:
