Filling Empty Spaces

Sandra Bullock in All About Steve

We have a natural compulsion to fill empty spaces. – Sandra Bullock as Mary, All About Steve

——————————————————————————–

I have to fill this empty space later. I’m still at work but I really want to blog about it ASAP.

Again, I will fill this empty space tonight.

I think its about time that I update this part for real πŸ˜€

Last week, I got the chance to attend the Philippine movie premiere of All About Steve at Glorietta 4 Cinema 5 together with my officemates. Our editor invited me the last minute and even asked me to invite some friends. I didn’t want to go at first, but meh, free dinner and movie tickets to a Sandra Bullock movie? Why not?

A Journey Home – A Film About Family and Forgiveness

PAGASA advised everyone to stay in their homes for the weekend since Bagyong Pepeng is about to invade the country. However, I went out to use my gift certificate from a Spa center in The Podium and went straight to SM Megamall to watch a movie with Maire.

Before going out, Maire invited me to watch the independent film ‘A Journey Home‘. She said a friend gave her two premiere night tickets. As a certified Toni Gonzaga fan, I accepted the invitation. πŸ˜€

The Cinemalaya Cinco Experience

As an aspiring film maker, I’ve always dreamt of attending the Cinemalaya Film Festival. I remember reading nice reviews from movie critics about some of my favorite Cinemalaya movies like Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros, Room Boy, Isnats, Endo and 100. I was based in Dagupan during that time. I wanted to go with a blogger friend last year to watch some movies, but my work schedule didn’t permit me to do so.

I am grateful to Gibbs Cadiz for choosing me as one of the five bloggers to cover the Cinemalaya Cinco event! Not only did I get the chance all the movies for free, but I was also able to meet and greet some of the directors and casts of the participating films. During the presscon which took place sometime in May, I got the chance to talk to Pepe Diokno of Engkwentro (where I asked him if he’s a bit scared about the issues that might pop-up after the movie’s release), Edgar Allan Guzman (one of the actors of Astig), Alfred Vargas (where the press mobbed him with political and Katrina Halili related questions) and Che Ramos (where I expressed that I am a fan of her effective portrayal as a rich preso girl at Prinsesa ng Banyera LOL).
