Dancing at the Cebu Blog Camp 2011

If you’re thinking that i performed a dance presentation at the recently-concluded Cebu Blog Camp 2011, well, you’re wrong. Sorry for the misleading title Haha πŸ™‚

Manila bloggers Robbie, Mica and Jhelo at the Cebu Blog Camp 2011 (Photo by Yoshke)

Last Saturday, i attended the second Cebu Blog Camp. I flew all the way from Manila to Cebu not because I have a significant role to the event, but because Cebu is a really special place for me. I quite expected to see familiar faces in the yearly event and i’m glad i pushed through with the trip.

We arrived a bit late at the venue because Robbie and I had to finish some freelance work tasks. I saw Yoshke Dimen, a blogger friend of mine whom I only see in person when we’re not in Manila (Singapore and Cebu LOL). We were able to compare notes about Christina Aguilera’s Bionic songs, but that is another story.

Lipad na!!!! (Photo by Yoshke)

Just like any other CBC participant, we were eager to take pictures with the AirPhilExpress plane.

Now let’s go to the serious part…

Mica and Robbie trying to be formal. Formal? Haha

Ayoko pa mag-seryoso eh! πŸ˜€

The morning lecture session started with Paul Gothiong (Photography 101) and Eric Su of Piclyf.com. I am glad to see Eric explaining how Piclyf works. I am one of the first few members (formerly called Twidl.It).

How Piclyf works... by Eric Su

I think they have around 8,000+ users and still growing. I suggest though that they bring a Piclyf standee for their upcoming events. Wala lang πŸ˜€

Lunch Time!

What do we have for lunch?

Lunch time, kids! There’s a little raffle from the event sponsors and some bloggers even participated at the icebreaker by singing their favorite songs!

Experience the Place

Let’s move to the afternoon session πŸ˜€ Travel Blogging 101 was discussed by Estan Cabigas of Langyaw.com. He surely made the Pinoy Travel Bloggers (PTB) proud with his talk πŸ˜€ The best advice he gave is ‘Experience the Place‘. I noticed that some bloggers tend to take too much pictures instead of swimming, eating and other stuff one should do when traveling although i can’t really blame them. I am guilty on this part too haha and a relative of mine in London reminded me about this. Don’t you ever forget to experience the place. The best teacher, indeed πŸ™‚

Ms. Aileen Apolo discussed the free web applications offered by Google. Too bad though I wasn’t able to talk to her much. We were at the same hotel, but we only managed to say hi and hello to each other LOL.

With Tita Janette Toral πŸ˜€

Ms. Janette C. Toral talked about the most talked about topic in the blogosphere – BloggersÒ€ℒ Etiquette 101. This is very timely specifically for the newbies who are somewhat misleaded by other bloggers when it comes to attending events and the like.

The Food and Restaurant Review 101 is one of the most interesting talks of the day. Maybe because it is quite refreshing to hear a non-blogger (Chef Anthony Gomez, worked as Head Chef in Ativo Italian resto and Marco Polo Cebu) share his take on food and restaurant reviews. His talk is a cool one because he was able to connect food and sex in a food orgasmic way LOL. In writing a food review (or eating in that case), you must be able to make your five senses work – just like when making love. Funny but true. Diba? πŸ˜›

Coy Caballes on Weight Loss... este, Social Media Marketing πŸ˜›

Coy Caballes is one of the early videobloggers in the Philippines and it’s quite refreshing to see him talk about a different topic. This time, he shares his thoughts on Social Media Marketing 101. He is currently working as the Social Media Manager of Globe Telecom. I paid attention to his talk because i would like to focus more on marketing my blogs and me as a brand (parang artista lang LOL). It’s only now that I found out that the Pokwang Scandal is a part of a viral campaign 😐 All the while, i thought that is for real! May second part pa pala yun hahaha nice one, Globe πŸ˜›

Ruben Licera Jr., whom i first met at Maribago Beach Resort last year talked about Social Media Marketing via Facebook. He decided to quit on his full-time job to focus on Social Media Marketing particularly using Facebook as a tool. I assume that he’s doing very, very well now πŸ˜€

The Cebu Blog Camp 2011 ended with photo-ops and yep, dancing. Robbie and I started dancing after the group photo session LOL i guess the whole dance scenario lasted for 15minutes =)) MIGHT embed the video here haha
