One of the reasons why I am excited to go to the Queen City of the South is the chance to ride on the Edge Coaster. I’ve been hearing a lot of testimonials about it and I was able to watch some videos of the brave individuals who tried it out. Seeing the feature of the travel show Trip na Trip with Jayson and Franzen singing Kapantay ay Langit while riding made me really eager to try it out myself.
Last August 8, 2009 at exactly 4:46PM with a windy weather, McBilly and I successfully completed the ride on the World’s First and Only Edge Coaster at the 38th level of outer-rim of Crown Regency Hotel and Towers, the tallest hotel tower in the country, standing 40 storey’s high at Fuente Osmena. (that’s according to our certificate teehee).
We went there together with Angelo. To give you a little background, the Edge Coaster goes around the edge of the building and tilts its riders up to 55 degrees. At the middle of the ride, the passenger will have full control.
If you’re planning to try this one out, just go to the 19th floor of Crown Regency. On weekdays, they’re open as early as 10AM till midnight. On weekends, they start with the operation at around 2PM till 2AM. I do think that it is a very romantic venue to propose to someone LOL. (Till death do us part! Haha)
About the budget? hmmmm… We spent around Php 1,100 for the two of us including snacks. If you simply want to enter the place, there is also an entrance fee. The photos are excluded at the package. Pretty expensive, but I do think the experience is worth it.
You can also see some of Cebu’s buildings when you drop Php10 coins. Maybe you can also find your soulmate there LOL
The place is also perfect for photo-ops. You can even pretend that the photo is taken from other Asian countries! 😛
Also, I didn’t miss the chance to gallivant around the hotel itself. Another factor that made this experience memorable is the company of two of my friends-slash-tourist guides. PRICELESS.
More photos uploaded at my Facebook page. Thanks to Angelo and McBilly for the photos!
