Addicted to Acoustic with Princess

Two years ago, I met Princess Velasco at a mini concert. She rendered a special song number and since then, I became a big fan of hers.

A few months after, we became officemates. She is not just a talented performer, but most importantly, a smart lady. Her subordinates and students can attest to that.

Princess Velasco - Addicted to Acoustic

Just recently, I found out that she is now a recording artist! Her debut album called “Addicted to Acoustic” is now out in the market for Pho 200 only!

The said laidback acoustic album contains 18 cover songs of some of today’s acoustic hits such as Realize, T-Shirt, Thinking of You, Single Ladies, I Hate This Part, Love Bug and many more! Lucky me was able to find some sample songs and here are some of them:

Taympers Muna!

A lot of exciting stuff happened to me the past few weeks. I met Anne Curtis at the HBC Baranggay Makeover event, I learned more about the benefits of Malunggay, I’ve seen the indie film Dose (which is not really as disturbing as we expected it to be), my father’s 5th year death anniversary, bought a ceramic piggy bank, ate talangkanin at Kaya Restaurant with the grannies, new assignments at work, attended the kadakwento premiere, discovered a very nice japanese restaurant near my place, went out with old friends, recorded boredom videos at Facebook, attended the Cinemalaya Cinco premiere and invested on a worthwhile project out of my earnings. Whew!

As much as I would like to blog about everything, I can’t do it for now (but I will – just give me enough time teehee). I am looking forward to the weekend because I’m about to pursue another passion of mine and that is filmmaking 🙂

I need a break just like the little kids who play pinoy games such as ‘Patintero’ or ‘Langit-Lupa’, TAYMPERS MUNA!

For the mean time, why don’t you vote for your Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009? Please do check out Batang Lakwatsero , Singing Blogger, Adaphobic , Let’s Go Sago , Thirsty Blogger and of course, Patay Gutom! Thanks again 🙂

Let’s Talk About the Techy Romantics!

techyromantics1

Just last month, a number of bloggers were invited at the  Philips Go Gear event at Bonifacio High Street. Aside from the games and presentation of the newest techy gadgets, a number of bands played much to the delight of the guests. One of the bands who made that event very memorable is the indie band Techy Romantics. I am not really familiar with the band until I saw them perform onstage. Their sound reminds me of The Cardigans (Erase/Rewind, Grand Turismo, Lovefool).

The other night, I was lucky to meet Dondi Virrey, the one in-charge with the samples and keys. Thanks to our common friend Chiko Lara. I later on found out a few information regarding the indie band which will soon invade the music scene.

On Watching Ice Age 3 in Full 3D and Flippish Launch Party

I had a very stressful Thursday. I remember waking up at the wrong side of the bed and deleting a number of spam on one of my newly-launched blogs. I did a number of articles at work and I had a feeling that the boss will ask us to do more writing stuff so I left right away leaving my office mates behind 😛

Ice Age 3 Launch at Trinoma Cinema

Ice Age 3 Launch at Trinoma Cinema

The naughty kiddo went straight to the MRT station to go to Trinoma and attend the launch of  Ice Age 3 at Trinoma Cinema. As expected, a lot of kids and kids at heart were at the venue taking photos with some of the mascots. I wanted to have a photo taken with Goin’ Bulilit star Mica dela Cruz, but I failed 😐

A Saturday Full of Hotdogs, Shabu-Shabu and Iced Mocha

TGIS! Thank God It’s Saturday! Nah, I’m not talking about the teen-oriented show shown years ago Starring Angelu de Leon and Bobby Andrews as Peachy and Wacks. I am pertaining to the lovely Saturday I just had. I can say that I had a Patay Gutom Saturday after going to the 7-11 Bite Match Event, Mini Shabu-Shabu for Dinner and Krispy Kreme Greenhills for Dessert.

Why should you choose this hotdog over your boyfriend?

Why should you choose this hotdog over your boyfriend?

Though I only managed to sleep for thirty minutes, a lot of things happened and a very busy day is ahead of me. I tried to sleep at 10am and I managed to get up at10:30am since the 7-11 Bite Match event will start at 11am. I am surprised to see my grandfather on my way to the bathroom when I woke up LOL. I didn’t know that the grannies are here in the city to attend a Golden wedding anniversary. Awkward Moment 😐

After doing the *bibihis na ako at didiretso na ako ng rockwell kahit basa pa ang buhok ko at may muta pa ako*routine, I finally arrived at the venue and surprised to see a hotdog talking about why girls should choose hotdogs over their boyfriends. Hmmmm…

Resorts World Manila’s Red Carpet Event for Bloggers

Last June 18, a number of bloggers were invited by Mr. Jonas Diego for the orientation of the Casino Royale Blogger’s Red Carpet Night at Resorts World Manila. To be honest, we were all overwhelmed with the hospitality of the staff an crew of the 6-star hotel. I am with the second batch and i got excited upon seeing the sample of the room and the entertainment area. Also, seeing the staff and crew behind us (I think there were 25 staff all in all. Pwedeng 1 is to 1 sa service LOL) made us feel special. Aw 😀

Resorts World Manila – Roulette

Fast forward to June 26, 2009. Since I was upset with the Death of Michael Jackson and i’m a bit moody that morning, I decided not to attend the special night. Later on, my blogger friends were texting me and they were forcing me to go so I went 😀

Rizal and the rest of her angels picked us up at Starbucks 6750 with the other bloggers near Makati area. I got pretty excited upon seeing the other bloggers dressed in their formal attire. Seeing the male bloggers on their suit is just cute teehee 😀 After the soft launch at the lobby, we were all invited to go to the second floor and play at the Entertainment room.

Weekend Lakwatsa at Boracay with the Grannies and HS Bestie (Photostory)

FlySeair

APRIL 1994 – The month and year when I first rode an airplane with my parents. If I’m not mistaken, the trip to Hongkong was their graduation gift and at the same time an advanced birthday treat to me. I remember my mom telling me that they wanted me to experience how it feels like to ride an airplane so that I will have a story to tell to my classmates. They warned me that it might take me a long time before I will fly on air again.

FLYSEAIR

And they were right! Fifteen years after, I was given the chance to experience my first ever domestic flight. Thanks to SEAIR for the wonderful trip to Caticlan. Last year, I won six tickets from their writing contest. I originally wanted to go to Palawan, but due to undisclosed reason, we were assigned to go to Boracay instead. What made this trip extra special? Hmmmm…. aside from it’s my first time to go to one of the best beaches in the world, I went there with my lovable grandparents and my high school bestfriend named Maire. Another fun fact is that we are all first timers!

Riding at the 19 passenger toy plane with Koreanz

Riding at the 19 passenger toy plane with Koreanz

Since this trip is so special to me, I would like to write a longer blog post about it. I am happy because I was able to spend the Independence weekend with my high school bestfriend, Maire (we once dreamt about this way back, remember?), Lola Paquita (whom i truly admire with all the sacrifices she had to go through during the trip teehee) and Lolo Peping, who looked like a little boy when he told me that its his first time ride in a propeller plane after 40 long years.

On the next blog post, you will learn why I kept on mentioning the phrase “For the sake of friendship” everytime Maire and I have a photo together. I will also share to you the flight details, our stay at Tans Guesthouse, the nightlife, Island hopping, Puka beach, Snorling, Reef walking, Para-sailing, camwhoring, spending too much on mineral water, painful sunburn, wearing a bikini at the beach for the first time, catching up with your high school buddy and of course, seeing your grannies happy in the wonderful place called Boracay. Woot! Again, special thanks to SEAIR for making this trip possible! Sa uulitin 😛

PS: Due to the trip, I decided to convert one of my blogs into a travel blog. It will be launched this July 😀

The Influence of Michael Jackson

Yesterday, I received a text message from a friend informing me about Michael Jackson’s death. I originally thought it was a hoax not until I went online and read the post from Showbiz Gossips that indeed, the King of Pop passed away. It’s no gossip. It’s a fact that really made the whole world sad.

Michael Jackson

With a father working as a disc jockey and a mom who is a graceful dancer, I grew up listening to the songs of Madonna, Janet and of course, Michael Jackson. Please let me share to you how Michael Jackson’s songs inspired and influenced me as a kid.

Read Ten of My Most Memorable Michael Jackson songs. Beware of the heavy videos though 😀

Philips Go Gear Mp3 Player and Virtual Battle of the Bands

A few weeks ago, a number of bloggers were invited at the Philips Go Gear Launch at Bonifacio High Street. The rain didn’t stop the techy bloggers as they invade the place and as they check the coolest gadgets from Philips.

Philips Go Gear Mp3 Player

After eating Talangkanin for lunch and sipping coffee as we chill at the afternoon, we all went straight to the Philips Go Gear event. We finally saw the Philips Go Gear MP3 Player and we were all hoping to win at the raffle.

June 20

Three years ago..

Three years ago, our journey began…

We knew each other’s names, but we don’t really know each other that well. I’ve heard of your name since I was in high school because you are the biggest competitor of my puppy love. I’ve seen you walk around the campus like a walking encyclopedia with your nerd-ish hairstyle and geekish glasses. Still, I find you attractive because you do really look good on your white uniform.

Call it a stroke of luck, we suddenly clicked as friends. I remember I was nursing a heartbreak due to a friend’s revelation that he is getting married. You asked me to accompany you go around the campus and inspect for the election posters. The funny thing there is you were narrating stories i never thought i’d hear. To be honest, I was impressed. I never thought that someone like you, who is very much loved and adored by the students, appreciated how i am as a leader and as a dance troupe member.
