Film Showing + Pasta Buffet + Doughnut Overload on The 12th of June

June 12 is the official Independence Day of the Philippines. It is considered as an important holiday for the Filipinos because it is the day wherein our ancestors finally had their freedom from the Spaniards. It also happened to be an important day for my second short film called The 12th of June. It has nothing to do with the history of the Philippine Independence, but errr… I consider it as a special day since it also falls on a Saturday this year.

Watching The 12th of June

Watching The 12th of June on the 12th of June, 2010

I first had my film showing at Mam Bebs in Davao City last year with the help of Avatar Media and had another one at Tomato Bomb. Some of my blogger friends were able to see Kuya Bunso and Positive. However, more friends were asking when I’ll be having the next screening. Since I wanted to host one so badly, I planned to have it on The 12th of June with no particular place or any other activity yet.

I first heard about Penpen’s Resto at Ping Medina’s Twitter account. The place happened to have Pasta Buffets on Tuesdays and the second floor is open for parties, film showing among others. I inquired through Ping Medina’s Facebook account and I’m glad that he replied. I then decided to have a Pasta Buffet Party + Film Showing there.

Now let me narrate everything that happened on my very own independence day:

I woke up late and bombarded my friends with text message asking if they’d make it on the film showing. My college bestfriend arrived at home straight from her work then we went to Krispy Kreme Greenhills to pick up Chloe’s surprise. I was surprised when I found out she’ll give out 35 boxes of original-glazed donuts! The staff remembered that i shot some scenes of The 12th of June last July 2009 and they’re asking me when I’m going to shoot again LOL.

CONTEST ALERT! What is your TOUGHEST job?

I am currently working as an editorial staff of an entertainment magbloid (magazine-tabloid). It is my task to proofread submitted articles, write photostories and tag the photos submitted to us by our photographers. It is a tough job because you need to re-read some of the articles and check if there are misspelled words, inconsistencies among others. As someone who works in the entertainment industry navigating a challenging work atmosphere can be hard since toxicity is rampant in the workplace.

Making people happy through showbiz chikkas can be a very tough job, you know? :P

At night, I also do work on my blogs in order to earn extra money for my daily and traveling expenses. I maintain a lot of blogs and keeping them updated at least three times a week is quite a tough job. I also do accept some freelance work (though most of the time, i received ‘thank you’ as a payment LOL)

I’m sure that almost all of you are employed and is currently handling a lot of tasks in the workplace. Would you mind to share what is your toughest job?

Akihiro Sato – The Brapanese Guy

Last week, Vince invited me at the Grand Launch of Bluewater Day Spa’s Tomas Morato branch. I immediately said yes when I found out that the venue is just one tricycle ride to our workplace. The said popular spa chain had a number of celebrity endorsers in the past which includes Brad Turvey, Patty Sandel, Toni Gonzaga, Piolo Pascual and Marian Rivera. The present endorsers are Karylle and the Brapanese hottie Akihiro Sato.

Akihiro Sato talks about his favorite Bluewater and Day Spa treatment

Can I confess something? The main reason why I really went there is to see Akihiro Sato in person. Aside from his good looks, I’ve heard a lot of testimonials about him that he is very approachable and accommodating. I mean come on, girls and gays can’t help but feel kilig whenever they see him in person. Might as well experience that, right?

Personally, I enjoy traveling especially within the country. It is really nice to go around and explore the Philippines. I also enjoy dancing and making movies.

Basically, all one has to do is to upload a video with a duration of 30 – 60 seconds telling what they enjoy doing. The participants should start the video with “I Enjoy….”.

Ratifying Mr. Alleba with a PicLyf Entry

Someone just turned a year older today. He happened to be the man behind a popular Filipino search engine which I wanted to copy when I was in high school (hindi kinaya ng notepad ang codes LOL). He also runs and operates a bakery somewhere in the South and not only that – he is also into baking blogs and ranks their hotness and freshness according to several factors which I don’t really want to discuss because I am lazy. He is also a camwhore who kept on imitating the Villar pose or the Jejemon Heart in his Piclyf updates. What a talented guy, right? He also happened to be my partner – at least on Facebook.

Ratifying Mr. Alleba with a Piclyf Entry

We last saw each other at the recently-concluded Cebu Blog Camp. I don’t know why all of a sudden, I saw myself in some of the newbie bloggers who were approaching me. The Devcom thingy at IT Park also made me remember that once in my life, I want to become a web developer/programmer. I want to run my very own website and yes, a search engine.

The Benefits of Coupon Codes on Summer Vacation

Family trips are exciting and fun especially during summer. It is the only time wherein the kids take a break from school and working parents find an excuse to take a leave from work and prepare for a weekend trip with the family.

I remember when I was younger, my relatives would invite us to go on a road trip to different places. It can be very costly for them, but theyÒ€ℒre lucky to get discount coupons from fliers and newspaper clippings to lessen the expenses for hotel accommodations and transportation.

When a Sleepy Head Doodles

Even if i have a laptop with me where i can keep soft copies of my thoughts, i still keep a number of notebooks with me. Ever since I was in elementary, I have this habit of reusing some of my school notebooks for doodling. If ever you saw a notebook with my name on it but there’s no doodle at the back, most probably that is not mine.

After the surprise kiddie party my friends prepared for me on my twenty third birthday, i managed to write a doodle on my ‘notebook of the month’. With my red ballpen that I use for proofreading, i wrote some of the things i want to do now that i am 23 years old. There’s something special about turning twenty three and i can’t really explain why. I remember a blogger friend from Livejournal telling me when I was 18 that my 23rd year in planet earth will be a very exciting one. I won’t tell on which specific part of my life that will be, but your guess is as good as mine.

Want to see the doodle? Ok here it is LOL:

Sleepy Mica Doodles

(Forgive me with my poor penmanship. I iz sleepy LOL)

What I wrote there is not arranged in chronological order, but let me explain every point LOL.

Making History at the Cebu Blog Camp 2010

“Cebu Blog Camp Hangover” – That’s my status in Facebook, Plurk and Twitter yesterday. Just like the rest of the Cebu Campers who attended the first ever Cebu Blog Camp, I still can’t blog in a straight news way. I will try anyway. Or maybe not.

Nah, I'm not singing. I'm narrating my blog story here! :P

Nah, I'm not singing. I'm narrating my blog story here! πŸ˜›

For the sixth time in nine months, I found myself stepping at the Mactan International Airport last Friday. I am back in the Queen City of the South for the Cebu Blog Camp 2010. I was invited by Winston to speak about the Basics of Blogging and I immediately said yes when he mentioned about it months ago. I was sick and sleepless when I arrived, so I went straight to my hotel room to have a nap – which resulted to six hours of sleep 0_0. I missed the trip to Maribago Beach Resort because of that, so I went straight to Ayala Mall instead to finalize my presentation for the talk the next day.

So Saturday is the big day! I wasn’t able to sleep and I looked like a zombie when I ate my breakfast. I am thankful that Ate Ria was there and she did my make-up for that morning πŸ˜€ I am not really into make-ups and stuff, that’s why I am glad that Ate Ria was more than willing to help me look like a normal person for my talk teehee.
