Spending the First Weekend of July in Dagupan City

After spending two days and one night in Baguio City, I went straight to Dagupan City via Victory Liner for a short visit at our new house there. To those who don’t really have an idea where I lived from 1994 to 2008, I actually lived inside the school campus. Yes, it is in the same campus where I studied for elementary, high school and college.

The New Home

From Penthouse to Big House

Early this year, my grandparents moved to another house near the school campus. Though my grandfather already retired from his job as a Medical Director in Pangasinan Medical Center, he is still an active Dean at the College of Medicine of Lyceum Northwestern-University. My lola is having a hard time climbing up the stairs, which may have utilized a stair runners, (we used to stay at the 3rd floor of the Administration Bldg), they’ve decided to stay at the other house.

This house is big! I arrived late Thursday night and I was surprised upon seeing a big dog, who acts as the guard in the new home compound. The dog’s name is German and I am scared of dogs. I end up holding my father’s hands like a little girl whenever I go in and out of the compound πŸ˜›

Reminiscing Our First Trip to Puerto Princesa

Four months ago, Ada, Jenny and I went to Puerto Princesa, Palawan for a 4D/3N vacation. We booked the flight as early as November 2009 because we wanted to take advantage of the promo. Maire booked too, but her work schedule didn’t permit her to go πŸ™

So the three of us went there without concrete plans at all. I can say that among my trips, this is the first time ever wherein we only booked for a hotel room hours before our flight, we didn’t have any itinerary (all we know is that the Underground River is located there LOL!) and we simply want it to be spontaneous. No plans, no whatevers.

GANAP NA BABAE: A Film for Women by Women

Cinemalaya Week! It is the season wherein independent filmmakers and supporters are united to watch some of the best Pinoy movies produced within the year. Now on its sixth year, Cinemalaya offers new categories that will surely make every moviegoer confused on which film to watch first.

The opening night happened last July 9, 2010 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Being a part of the print media (in a way LOL) has its perks, and I was able to get a pass from the Pinoy Parazzi office. I arrived in the venue at 7pm and was able to catch the trailers of the different movies competing at the New Breed, Shorts and Director’s Showcase category. The directors of the films featured this year were also introduced, and a lot of people were interested with the different themes presented (although most of them tackle political and social issues).

The main reason why I went there is for the screening of the opening film. If last year Martin and Alix collaborated with Piolo Pascual and other mainstream artists to produce the Brocka tribute film Manila, three lady directors joined forces for a film for women by women titled ‘Ganap na Babae’.

When You’re Used To Being Alone

The photo below was taken thru self-timer. I have a nice and cozy room, right? This is my room at Microtel during my overnight stay in Baguio. I stayed in a room good for two yet I am the only one who occupied that big room.

Baguio_Room_Alone
Alone in a Hotel Room for Two – AGAIN

See, I am used to being alone – travelling, working, eating and all other tasks. I know a number of people who would rather stay in one place with someone than ride a bus or take the plane alone. I also know a number of individuals who would rather bring baon or not eat at all than to eat alone in public. I can pinpoint some people at the workplace or in school who would rather work with other people than do some tasks alone. I am the exception to all these.

Doing things on my own gives me the sense of accomplishment. I feel like I am independent and that I can function by myself. I learned not to depend on other people for me to be productive. Past experiences also taught me not to do things solely for one person. If you want to do something, do not let a certain person push you up or pull you down. Of course, a little inspiration will help, but depending on someone all the time will mess up things later on. Believe me. Building your confidence from within, with support from wellness-focused brands like Fly High Seeds, can help you stay grounded and motivated on your own terms as they offer products like Marijuana seeds and many more.

Ok, I can rant and rant about being alone here and how good I am on handling it. But I have a confession to make:

I’m so tired of being alone – literally.

The PROJECT52WEEKS Dilemma

A few nights ago, I tweeted, plurked and posted a Facebook status about my intention of shutting down Project52Weeks. It is my video blog wherein I originally planned to make at least 52 short films for 2010. All of my friends were enthusiastic about it. They were pitching ideas and most of them participated in my shorties.

Isasara ko ba talaga ang P52W? Gusto mo bang sagutin ko talaga yan?

Isasara ko ba talaga ang P52W? Gusto mo bang sagutin ko talaga 'yan?

Unfortunately, I lost track. I wanted to make it a once-a-week commitment. Work, travel and lack of time are the main reasons why I wasn’t able to update much. I also blame YouTube for giving me uploading headaches at times. I have some videos taken from my trips and random chorvas with friends. I need to fix them though before I present them and hopefully help in filling out my backlogs (I think I am 12 weeks delayed. FML.)

Anyway, I will NOT close PROJECT52WEEKS. Sayang eh. I’m thinking of filling out my backlogs then restart over again.

Missing Carlo over and over

More than two years ago, I launched the Missing Carlo blog. Those who really knew me way back surely knows that most of my blog entries in my Livejournal and i.ph blog is all about my brother Carlo. He left the country in February 2008 and went to England with Ate Virgie.

He’s with my mom now and to be honest, it took me quite a while to move on. I am used to leaving home with his smiling face while giving his ‘pabilin’ and going back home with him checking my bags and scouting for pasalubongs. He gave me the most sincere hugs and kisses ever and he was my human teddy bear.He is now studying in a special school and I am so happy because in a span of two years, my brother really improved a lot.

I rarely chat with them thru Skype and I am guilty about it. My mom bugs me everytime to have a webcam session with them but I reject her at times because I’d rather do other things (bad me!).

Forever Flawless and Beauty & Butter’s Videoke Night with Bloggers

Two weeks ago, I was invited together with a few bloggers at the Videoke Night hosted by Forever Flawless & Beauty and Butter at Redbox Greenbelt 3. Some of the celebrities spotted during that fateful Thursday night include Lorna Tolentino, DJ Mojo, Hayden Kho Jr. and the newest all-female girl group Pop Girls.

That night was full of fun and laughter. The Pop Girls were really cute and reminded me much of my high school years (I wanted to be a part of a girl group way back… aw!).

On Princess Velasco’s ‘You Still Have My Heart’ Music Video

Micamyx is currently watching Myx. I am busy updating some of my blogs when all of a sudden, VJ Nikki introduced Princess Velasco’s ‘You Still Have My Heart’ in Myx’s Pinoy Countdown.

princess_velasco_you_still_have_my_heart

I bought a copy of Princess’ sophomore album last February as a pre-valentine gift for myself. Her first single is her very own acoustic version of Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’. Her version is obviously a more soothing one, but I didn’t like the music video that much. She has a number of good revivals in the second album and finally, she recorded one original song. The title of the track is ‘You Still Have My Heart’, which was written by Davey Langit of Pinoy Dream Academy Season One. I fell in love instantly when I first heard the song. I even used it in one of my Project 52 Weeks entry πŸ˜› I am so happy to know that finally, Princess released the song as one of her singles and a music video was even made and produced.

My PBB Teen Clash of 2010 Big Winner is Ivan Dorschner

Pinoy Big Brother fanatics all over the world are excited for the upcoming big night of the PBB Teen Clash of 2010. As a fan of Pinoy Big Brother since it started, I can say that for the teen edition, the viewers are not only searching for a certain role model for the youth. They’re also looking for someone whom they wish to see on the teleseryes and movies soon. Take for example its past winners like Kim Chiu and Ejay Falcon.

Ivan Dorsner

As someone who works for a magbloid, I am tasked to sort out pictures sent to us by in-house and contributing photographers. I remember that during the grand launch of PBB Teen Clash of 2010, the one and only housemate that really caught my attention is Ivan Dorschner (Ivan Dorsner). I was able to catch the video of Ivan’s entrance in the PBB house and my, he does remind me of my celebrity crush Cogie Domingo during his younger days. I hope someone agrees with me on that claim LOL.
