WeChat’s Mother’s Day Video Call promo

Today is Mother’s Day in the Philippines! It is the time of the year wherein we give extra time and appreciation to our beloved mommy. In my case, I already greeted my mom a Happy Mother’s Day a few months back since the UK is celebrating this special day way ahead of the usual schedule.

Participate in SHARP’s 100th Anniversary Share Campaign!

SHARP is definitely one of the most trusted brands in Asia as far as useful appliances and gadgets are concerned. In fact, I have a number of memories with our SHARP appliances while I was growing up.

I remember our SHARP TV Set that my parents bought when I was still in elementary. I love watching TV shows and movies as a kid yet at a young age, I was taught to balance my priorities in life. I need to finish ALL my assignments first before I am allowed to watch my favorite TV show. Our Sharp TV Set also played a major role in terms of family bonding since we would watch together in the living room on weekends with VHS rentals. My dad would prepare popcorn, buy some sodas the viola! Automatic Family Weekend!

Sharp's 100th Anniversary Campaign website https://share.sharp100years.com/

Being a student of a Special Science High School, we were required in majority of our subjects to bring scientific calculator with us. I ‘inherited’ my cousin’s Sharp Scientific Calculator after he graduated from his Commerce course. Even if I am already a ‘second-hand’ user of this device, it did help me a lot in my subjects. I even used it when I went to college!

We may not realize it, but we tend not to appreciate the things that makes our daily lives a bit more easier. Now that I do reminisce our old Sharp TV Set, VHS Player (inherited from a relative) and Scientific Calculator (inherited from my cousin), I can’t help but feel emotional.

CONTEST ALERT: Thank You, Global Pinoy! – The Yellow Bag Award

There is a saying that our beloved Overseas Filipino Workers or OFWs are the heroes of today. In Filipino, sila ang mga makabagong bayani. Trying your luck in a foreign country to secure a family’s future is not easy at all. I’ve witnessed some of our kababayans abroad (UK, Malaysia, Singapore) who are working hard so that they can send some money to their families back in the Philippines. Do you think leaving your husband, children or parents is easy?

Yellow Bag Prize for the Global Pinoy!

I think almost every Filipino knows an OFW. I am proud to say that my mom is one of them and I do appreciate her sacrifices in order to give me and my brother a good life. She left the country six years ago and it is a decision that I didn’t agree on at first, but I learned to accept that it is a need especially with my brother’s condition. I went there last year and the scenarios being depicted in some of our OFW-related movies like Milan, Caregiver and Anak do happen in real life.

Whether we admit it or not, there are some instances wherein we fail to make them feel appreciated. Worse, we seldom say ‘Thank You’. Some only remember their OFW relative when they need money for school or health expenses. We only remember them when we need something. All they need is a little love and appreciation from the recipients of their hard-earned money.

Join Thunderbird Resorts’ Extraordinary Online Video Contest!

My trip to Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point in San Fernando, La Union was extraordinary. I was born and raised in Dagupan City in Pangasinan, which is just beside the province of La Union. Region 1 had a limited number of resorts for tourists who are looking for high-class accommodation way back. Now, the number of tourists is increasing due to the impressive Mediterranean-inspired destination.

As a sign of appreciation to their loyal online followers, Thunderbird Resorts recently launched a video contest called the ‘Extraordinary Online Video Contest‘. The prizes at stake are really great and i somewhat regret that i can’t possibly join this contest now :/ I am encouraging all of my online friends to join this contest and tag me along if you win HAHA just kidding (but please take that seriously LOL)

Melting Me Slowly in Haagen Dazs Island – Caramel Biscuit Haven

Last Wednesday was pretty hectic yet memorable day for me. I wasn’t able to get some sleep because I had to work on some articles for my freelance writing gigs. Our call time for the shoot is 9:30AM at GNN’s new studio. I published my last article at 7:30AM. In short, I just ate breakfast and went straight to the guesting with a sleepyhead T_T.

Trying to stay awake for the live guesting *sleepyhead alert!*

Trying to stay awake for the live guesting *sleepyhead alert!*

On my way there, the taxi driver even asked me if i was able to catch some sleep. Maybe he noticed my eyebags and I was drinking a cold mocha drink while on the cab. Listening to a Filipino novelty song in the morning helps to keep me awake, i guess.

Alaminos, Pangasinan - The Home of the Hundred Islands

Alaminos, Pangasinan – The Home of the Hundred Islands

Just last September 4, 2010, Kraft launched the world’s longest Christmas celebration with the Eden’s Sarap ng Pasko: 100 Days of Christmas. Last year, I was able to join the Kraft Keso de Gallo in Pampanga on the 4th of December. The new project for this year is twice the fun and the excitement!

What makes this project unique? Well, 100 towns from different parts of the Philippines presents their Unique Dish, and the top 9 cities with most votes will be recognized by 9 best recipes in 9 churches. The project slogan is : “100 Days. 100 Towns. 100 Unique Dishes.”

Since Dagupan City is not on the list, I will be supporting Alaminos City, Pangasinan this time. Familiar? It is the place where the world-famous Hundred Islands Natures Park is located. Alaminos City is also known for its seafoods and clean surroundings. On March 28, 2001, Alaminos was officially declared as the Fourth City of Pangasinan.
