With the advancement of technology, lots of new web applications were developed by skilled and talented individuals. I remember building my first website using pure HTML. TV 5’s Blogger’s Videoke Night @ Redbox

Last year, TV5 made the bloggers happy with their first blog event where everyone didn’t leave the venue empty handed.

“I went to Ipanema last February 19”.

Nah, I’m not talking about the beautiful place in Brazil. I’m talking about the launch of Ipanema echo-chic Gisele Bündchen Seeds Collection at Le Souffle, The Fort. Several bloggers were invited in the elegant event.

Women with Brave Hearts Shoots Cervical Cancer

Last Saturday, I got the chance to meet some of the members of Bravehearts, an NGO that aims to raise awareness on cervical cancer prevention in the Philippines.

A number of bloggers were invited for an intimate lunch meet-up. Romina, the ever kikay yet tough girl who invited me to this empowering event, served as the emcee that afternoon. She gave a little overview on Bravehearts like their past activities, tie-ups, celebrity endorsers and some of their future plans.

The bubbly Romina of Bravehearts gave an overview about the group

To be honest with you, I don’t really know much on Cervical Cancer. I just found out that Cervical Cancer is actually  the second most common cancer among Filipino women! This means that we girls must not only worry on the possibility of having breast cancer (the top most common cancer among women all over the world). The good news here is it’s never too late to undergo treatment or vaccination.

Dr. Becky Singson

Dr. Becky Singson gave a talk on Cervical Cancer prevention

Dr. Becky Singson gave a short talk on the Cause, Stages and Prevention of Cervical Cancer among women. The talk made me realize that in the country, only a few is aware of the facts presented to us that afternoon. Thr group is planning to have regular screenings in different places in the Philippines. They’re also planning to conduct a number of blogger events which can help raise awareness about the group and how to prevent cervical cancer which are SVA, Cryotherapy and Vaccination (will tackle more on these on another blog entry to be posted soon).

Random Random Random

  • The past week was pretty hectic yet fun. I finally landed a semi-full time job somewhere at United Nations. Why semi-full time? I am only required to be seen visibly at the office three times a week and I can do the rest of the tasks at home. I have to admit that my body needs to adjust with the schedule, but I’m really ok with it. New ideas, new tasks, new environment means more learning and more fun!
  • I read a number of comments from different bloggers who are eager to see Kuya Bunso, the first ever blogger film written, produced and directed by yours truly. I am also excited as much as everyone is, but errr.. we haven’t transferred the tapes yet LOL. Sorry na 😀
  • I attended two blogger events for a cause – the first one has something to do with our environment and the other one has something to do with cervical cancer. I am glad that companies and organizations are now tapping bloggers in raising awareness on certain issues like what I mentioned. Blog entries will be posted anytime this week.
  • Top bloggers Coy Caballes, Fritz Tentativa and Winston Almendras made us proud with their talk at the Mensa Day last Sunday at Fully Booked. The three good-looking and talented guys deserve a round of applause and standing ovation (parang Rihanna song lang LOL). I will post a blog entry and some videos soon.
  • I’ll be going back home to Dagupan City on Thursday and I might attend the SEO/SEM Workshop at Urdaneta City University on Friday. This is my chance to meet some of my kababayans who are actually doing well on this field. I am also eager to hear Ms. Janette Toral and Mr. Gary Viray talk in Pangasinan. It’s my first time in four months to go back home.
  • I’ve been having some emo moments lately which usually lasts for 30 minutes. Is that weird? I think not. The phone call with my mom the last time made me burst into tears at a public place, but I laughed out loud after hearing Carlo sing a Christmas song at the background. EMO MOMENT FAIL!

No Strings Attached on Valentine’s Day

Two years ago, I celebrated my VDAY with my brother Carlo through a Jollibee dinner with him. I went out my my best buds Lecel and Kenjo last year at Serve Araneta for the Katrina Halili Fashion Show and went to Barrackz afterwards to bond with some online friends.

This year, I woke up late on VDAY. I wasn’t expecting for any flowers, chocolates or whatever, but I was excited for the Singles Partyco-organized by my friend TJ Cruz. Events like that are always fun, but plenty of people also turn to apps that let them meet horny women for quick connections.

Micaela Rodriguez – The Model

Three years ago, I was an active blogger at my LiveJournal account. I was curious if my blog will show up once I search for the name “Micaela Rodriguez” at Google.

Much to my surprise, I found out that I am not the only Micaela Rodriguez living in this world. I was a struggling student way back, and the other Micaela Rodriguez is a model in Mexico.

Make Her Happy on Valentines Day

Richard and KC

I am listening to Emma Bunton’s Free Me album as I type this entry. This morning, I received a text message from a male friend asking for some cool ideas on how to spend the 14th day of February a.k.a Valentines day with his girlfriend of three months. He wants to show extra sweetness and effort on this special day. I’ve been his love adviser for the past three years and he never failed to please his girlfriends (errr… yes, girlfriends! LOL).

Since he is bugging me over this thing, I decided to make a blog entry out of it. Here are some of my suggestions on how to make your special girl happy on the 14th:
