What’s in store for The 12th of June?

Last January, I produced and directed my first ever short film called Kuya Bunso. The story evolves around two siblings named Jess (Jehzeel Laurente) and Jackie (Cai Abbass). The eldest is a twenty something special child while the youngest is a goal-driven seventeen year old. I used the script I wrote for the Sinelab workshop I attended last year. I am happy with the outcome of the project because my blogger friends helped me out in terms of agreeing to do the film for free and for helping me out with the technicalities.

Three months ago, I wrote a script about a virtual assistant who is about to face her fears on a specific date. The title of the short film is The 12th of June. It is somewhat similar with one of my blog entries I wrote way back in June.

To be honest, I wrote the script at a coffee shop with a pen and paper. I was a bit emotional that day. Though the laptop can make things easier for me, nothing beats writing with the use of pen and paper especially when creative juices out of your angst starts pouring in.

A Journey Home – A Film About Family and Forgiveness

PAGASA advised everyone to stay in their homes for the weekend since Bagyong Pepeng is about to invade the country. However, I went out to use my gift certificate from a Spa center in The Podium and went straight to SM Megamall to watch a movie with Maire.

Before going out, Maire invited me to watch the independent film ‘A Journey Home‘. She said a friend gave her two premiere night tickets. As a certified Toni Gonzaga fan, I accepted the invitation. 😀

When we reached the venue, we saw Toni Gonzaga, Direk Paul Soriano and Joem Bascon outside the cinema. Toni looked simple yet sophisticated (love her shoes!). She and Direk Paul look good together and you can really see that they’re a nice couple. I love Joem Bascon’s badboy look. The last time I saw him was way back in 2007, where he was still a part of the gag show Let’s Go.

What Ondoy Did to our Workplace

Just got home from the hospital. I visited my grandmother who just underwent an angioplasty a few days ago. I wasn’t able to drop by yesterday because of the bad weather.

Outside Pinoy Parazzi's Office

Before going to the hospital, I went to our office at 2PM to work. Some parts of Panay Ave.is also muddy due to the typhoon yesterday. When I went down the tricycke, I was surpised upon seeing our office stuff (chairs, tables, computers etc) outside the building. I also caught my officemates clearing flood water in the office!

The Birth of Senyorita – The Travel Blog of Micamyx

I am happy to announce that I am finally launching SENYORITA.net, my travel blog!

senyoritaaaa1

What’s with the domain name? Well, I bought the domain last year because I wanted to venture into beauty and fashion blogging. Being a woman working in a place full of vanity makes you want to improve yourself in terms of your physical beauty and the way you dress. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to update the blog. For a while, the said domain became my anonymous emo blog (blame it on the fact that I became jobless on Christmas season pft). I deleted all the entries as soon as I recovered from a week of depression LOL.

Just early this year, I tried my best to keep myself updated in terms of the latest kikay stuff such as make-up, lipgloss, hairstyle etc. Still, I didn’t pursue it because I am not really vain. Fashion blogging is also a no-no since I don’t really shop. Errr…. I actually hate shopping. Ok. Not hate. I’m just not fond of it.

This year, I’ve been to Pangasinan, La Union, Boracay and Cebu. I then thought of transforming Senyorita into a travel blog. Hey, why not? Senyorita means single woman anyway and what do most single ladies do? TRAVEL!

Why the Blogger Behind Jehzlau Concepts is Influential

I AM WRITING ABOUT JEHZEEL  LAURENTE A.K.A JEHZLAU AGAIN!!!!
And I don’t regret it.

I went out with him, Winston and Xef the other night to watch a movie. Before we went back to our respective homes, Jehz invited us to eat first. As expected, we ate a lot. I ended up eating two cups of rice and ate the leftovers (My appetite is kinda weird the past few days LOL). On our way home, Jehz and I were talking about the possibility of traveling once more just like what we did a few weeks ago with the rest of the Nyoks at Cebu. We also discussed about some blog projects and so on. As usual, his childish yet charming ways made me really smile. Seeing him happy makes me happy.

I went online as soon as I got home. Saw him online a few minutes after then he suddenly plurked about the email he received from a Nuffnang Philippines representative. According to the email, he is nominated for the Most Influential Blog Category. He can’t believe it but it’s true. He forwarded the said message to me and we were like little kids who kept on saying ‘waaaaaaaah’ waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah’ and more ‘waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah’ to each other.

I am not really sure on what was Nuffnang’s basis on choosing him as one of the nominees for the Most Influential Blog on their first ever awards night at Singapore, but let me share to you my own basis on why Jehz is really worth voting for and why he deserves to be the first ever Influential Blogger to be recognized by the rest of the Nuffnangers around the world.

Back From Boracay!

Where was I last Friday and Saturday? I went to Boracay for a much-deserved weekend break at the beach!

I will surely miss Boracay!

I will surely miss Boracay!

This trip is entirely different from the first one. We learned that SEAIR has a shuttle service for the transfer of passengers from Caticlan airport to the island. We failed to enjoy the service the last time since we availed the transfer offered by Tans Guesthouse. We also spent the afternoon searching for the cheapest buko juice and for the best milkshake ever (as recommended by Byahilo). Our accommodation at Eriko’s House is also surprisingly awesome! The room looked better in real-life LOL. We were able to walk from Station 1 to Station 3 (Failed to do this the last time). And yeah, we went to different islands the whole Saturday for only Php500 with buffet lunch!

Expect a longer blog entry about this on my upcoming travel blog which will be publicly announced soon. I’m excited! 😀

Is Grandparent’s Day Really Important?

Here in the Philippines, it is a tradition for us to greet our loving moms a happy mother’s day at the second sunday of May. We also do greet our dads a happy father’s day on the second sunday of June. Usually, we give them gifts like a fancy lab grown solitaire ring or we make them special on the said dates.

Me and my grandparents at Boracay – Because life is a pleasure with you by my side! 😀

I am not really sure if it is only me, but I only heard of the Grandparents’ Day a few years ago. I remember my grandmother telling me that I failed to greet her that day. I am not sure if it the special day was celebrated by families way back or if it is just a newly-imposed holiday by businessmen to attract more customers at the second sunday of September.

If you think that I am whining about it, well, you’re wrong. Making my grandparents happy is a big fulfillment for me and believe me, I’ve been wanting to pamper them since I was a young girl. I remember telling my lolo as a kid that I will give him a plane ticket once I grow up. I even told him that I’ll be a stewardess LOL. He gave me, my mom and dad a chance to go to Hongkong when I was yonger. It’s about time that I return the favor.

Ever since I became a member of the stressed workforce of Makati last year, I always see to it that I spend time with them whenever they are here in Manila. Lolo and Lola usually goes here at least once a month. I have to admit that I’ve been very stressed with my previous work in terms of the work schedule, but a quick breakfast or late dinner is something that I always look forward to. I see to it that I have time for them.
