Chasing The Flight

I’m back in Manila after spending almost a week in Cebu with the PTB Bagets. It’s my 9th time (or 10th? I lost count LOL) in Cebu,  but it was my first time to visit Moalboal and Bantayan. It is a jam-packed trip full of activities and expected things that happened. Want me to start with storytelling? Let’s start with the trip going to the airport…

Motivational photo to not give up on the Cebu Flight!

A day before the trip, Robbie and I agreed to go together. I’ll take the taxi and pick him up on his place so we can go straight to the airport sharing the fare. At 6pm, he told me that he’s about to leave Quezon City and he is taking the MRT train going to the Bonifacio station. I lacked sleep so I fell asleep while waiting for his next update. He gave me a missed call at 7:10pm prompting that he will just do the last minute preparations and he’s ready to go.

With a sleepyhead and hungry stomach, I picked up my things and wore the slippers next to my bed. I went to the lobby to wait for a vacant taxi. There are two more passengers waiting before me. It started to rain and the Saturday traffic jam starts to go crazy. I hailed a cab after 30 minutes and while waiting, I was texting Robbie to just ride a cab when he sees one and i’ll try my very best to follow. We were both worried that we’ll miss our flight. Gah.

Battle of the 2012 Calendar Girls: Solenn vs. Carla vs. Stef!

2012 is almost here and as early as now, a lot of people are scouting for the best calendars to help them determine the date and for some guys, they ought to get some inspiration from it.

Solenn Heussaff, Stef Prescott & Carla Abellana: Who's the best calendar girl?

It is a tradition of some brands here in the Philippines to release their free calendar posters featuring their celebrity endorsers. For this year, three ladies from the Kapuso network were tapped to be the calendar girls of popular alcoholic beverage brands like Ginebra San Miguel, Tanduay Rhum and White Castle Whiskey.

Now let me present to you the three Calendar Girls of 2012: Solenn Heussaff, Carla Abellana and Stef Prescott!

Yesterday Today Tomorrow: A Star-Studded Christmas Drama

The Metro Manila Film Festival is a yearly event for moviegoers. It is the time of the year wherein families and friends get to bond while watching Filipino movies in the cinemas. For the whole week, only Filipino films that were chosen by the organizers of the said festival will be shown in all theaters in Metro Manila and in some provinces.

Yesterday Today Tomorrow official movie poster

One of the entries this year that really caught my attention is Regal Films’ Yesterday Today  Tomorrow. Under the direction of Jun Lana, this movie is the only family drama in the line-up. If you’re a Filipino movie fan, here are some reasons on why fans from all ages will surely be interested with this one:

This is my December – Excited and Thankful

HELLO DECEMBER! Wow, that fast? I recall that around this time last year, I was busy doing some last minute preparations for my trip to the UK. Instead of buying new clothes for the winter season, I shopped for Filipino goodies like Lucky Me Pansit Canton, Boy Bawang, Likas Papaya Soap, Cebu Dried Mangoes, Goldilocks Polvoron and so on. My friends also prepared a mini-despedida for me. I didn’t really know what to expect and I don’t have concrete plans at all. You know, the possibility of me staying there for good and meeting my now teen brother Carlo after many years.

Now accepting Christmas presents hehe 😛

I passed that challenge already and right now, I am here in a coffee shop somewhere in Dagupan City waiting for my high school classmates whom I haven’t seen in years.  Yikes. I’m nervous. Weird feeling is weird LOL.

When I wrote my last blog entry, I was a bit emotional (as always). I guess I am now in the stage wherein reality about the future hits me. Continue reading

Uncertainty

Bacolod-APX32

I WANT to write a long blog entry about the things that I am worried about

But

I NEED to sleep. I think I am just physically, emotionally and mentally tired.

UNCERTAIN. UNSURE. DOUBTS. FEAR. Those words are bothering me for the past few days. If only I can do all the things I WANT and NEED to do all at the same time.

Goodnight World. Gah. Overthinking sucks :/

What’s Up, Body Clock?

It’s 6:45AM and majority starts to wake up and prepare for school or work. Me? Well.. I am about to sleep.

I am not working in a call center that requires me to work on graveyard shifts. I also don’t have any clients now from the US or UK to talk or chat with. For the past few hours, i’ve been reading blogs and trying to write on another publishing site. Did I have a productive day… errrr night?

PLEASE SLEEP. PLEASE |Photo Source: http://www.cheechingy.com/

Yesterday, i slept at 9:30AM and woke up for lunch. Went back to bed afterwards and woke up at 6:30pm. I know most would say ‘lucky you!’ or ‘i envy your life!’

But hey, don’t.

Four Years After College…

I left my favorite tambayan at 12:01 AM and on my way home, I checked my beloved N70 phone (Yes, i had it fixed!). I smiled upon reading the reminder I added four years ago with the text “Graduation :)”

Iser, Me and Edmon Four Years Ago 🙂

Wow. It’s been four years? FOUR YEARS?!

As a student, one of my professors told me that I looked like a ‘Rebel with a Cause’. Dumbfounded with his impression towards me, he explained that I am the type of person who will do whatever she wants especially when she knows she’s right. Well, that is partly true 😛

CONTEST ALERT: Thank You, Global Pinoy! – The Yellow Bag Award

There is a saying that our beloved Overseas Filipino Workers or OFWs are the heroes of today. In Filipino, sila ang mga makabagong bayani. Trying your luck in a foreign country to secure a family’s future is not easy at all. I’ve witnessed some of our kababayans abroad (UK, Malaysia, Singapore) who are working hard so that they can send some money to their families back in the Philippines. Do you think leaving your husband, children or parents is easy?

Yellow Bag Prize for the Global Pinoy!

I think almost every Filipino knows an OFW. I am proud to say that my mom is one of them and I do appreciate her sacrifices in order to give me and my brother a good life. She left the country six years ago and it is a decision that I didn’t agree on at first, but I learned to accept that it is a need especially with my brother’s condition. I went there last year and the scenarios being depicted in some of our OFW-related movies like Milan, Caregiver and Anak do happen in real life.

Whether we admit it or not, there are some instances wherein we fail to make them feel appreciated. Worse, we seldom say ‘Thank You’. Some only remember their OFW relative when they need money for school or health expenses. We only remember them when we need something. All they need is a little love and appreciation from the recipients of their hard-earned money.

Meet the Cast and Crew of ‘Aswang’: Is it Worth Watching?

It is my first time to be ‘indirectly’ involved in promoting a mainstream movie. The other Tuesday, I attended the second pocket press conference for the movie ASWANG, which was attended by its lead stars Paulo Avelino, Joem Bascon and Lovi Poe at Mesa Grill in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

ASWANG stars Joem Bascon, Lovi Poe and Paulo Avelino ready to bite!

Just to give you a little background, Regal Films originally planned to produce an exact remake of the first ASWANG movie, where Alma Moreno played the lead role under the direction of Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes twenty years ago. Since there is a big obvious change in the society in the past years, scriptwriter Aloy Adlawan decided to make a screenplay with the necessary adjustments. When Jerold Tarog saw it, he suggested that they play around with the characters of the film which includes the inclusion of the Abuwaks. The film has the horror, suspense, family, drama, action comedy and romance factor. All in one, ika nga. In-aswang na lahat ng genre LOL.

Now let’s go to the Meet and Greet the cast part………

Rhian Ramos endorses Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone Edition

For the past few days, Kapuso actress Rhian Ramos is actively twitting (@whianwamos) with the hashtag #smartnetphone. Some of her followers were asking her if she’s the new endorser of the Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone Edition. She kept on teasing them.

CONFIRMED!!! Rhian Ramos is the face of Smart’s Samsung Galazy Y Netphone Edition. It is also one of the new TVC’s of SMART featuring the new logo. I think her viral Super Bass video with Moymoy Palaboy is a big factor on why SMART chose her to be the celebrity endorser of the Samsung Galaxy Y edition. Add the fact that she’s a natural techie and she loves to tweet a lot… no matter if these are tweets about her showbiz commitments, replies to her fans or even the personal (and juicy?) status updates hehe 😛
