2011 Conference on IT Concepts: A Slice of the Web Today (Lyceum-Northwestern University)

I am packing my stuff for tomorrow! I’ll be returning to Dagupan City and this time, I am tagging some blogger friends with me for a seminar at my beloved alma mater, Lyceum-Northwestern University.

I’ve been invited as a speaker to several blogging events and most of the time, I am sharing my own insights on Basics of Blogging (Blogging 101) and Personal Blogging. Usually, I’d meet aspiring bloggers after each talk and i’d see them work on their own platforms a month after. The Philippine Blogging Community is indeed growing.

POSITIVE (Short Film) at yourindiefilm.com

Last year, I was able to work on my third short film. It was something that I conceptualized after I finished editing my two previous films (Kuya Bunso and The 12th of June). I originally planned to make a five minute ‘infomercial’ that can raise awareness on HIV with no dialogues. I ended up playing with the main characters until it became a 17 minute screenplay.

The cast and crew of 'Positive' after shooting a complicated scene

The story of POSITIVE revolves around Celine Antonio, a young married promiscuous woman who is about to face the consequences of her infidelity. Is this based on a specific true story? Nope, but it is inspired from true events.

PROJECT52WEEKS.COM – 52 Weeks, 52 Short Films

After acquiring my very own Panasonic DMC-LX3 as a Christmas gift to myself, I started my very own photoblog at Tumblr called LX3 Moments, wherein I will be posting one photo a day with a corresponding information about the photo. It is a known fact in the bloggers that photo hobbyist started with their own Project 365 Days.

Micamyx's Project52Weeks starts now!

Want to know the real reason why I chose the LX3 instead of buying another type of camera? I love it because it is handy, easy to use and I can possibly take HD clips. I am not a professional photographer. In fact, I don’t even plan to put watermarks on my photos (unless maybe if i am not as lazy as I am today). I simply want a good camera. That’s it.

Ok, enough of that 😛 Just last week, I mentioned to a friend that I am planning to start with my own online video blogging project. My aim for this one is to shoot at least one short film using my Panasonic DMC-LX3. I want it to be on-the-spot and spontaneous. I bought the domain right away and launched the site last Sunday 😛

Why I Will Never Forget 2009

Wow. It’s 2010 already? I can’t believe that I am now trying my very best to write a blog entry about 2009. I remember writing my 2008 Year Ender post the other year with some disappointments related to my career (Being jobless at Christmas Day gives you a week of weakness, I swear!). I thought it’s the end of the world for me (uhm, not really. I’m a fighter, baby!). I am happy to inform you though that I started 2009 with much enthusiasm and ended it with a big smile on my face.

January 2009 - Kuya Bunso Cast and Crew

January 2009 - Kuya Bunso Cast and Crew

It was in January where I finally decided to push through with my passion in film making. With the script I worked on during my stay at Sinelab, I managed to talk to some of my blogger friends to help me out with my first film entitled Kuya Bunso. With Jehzeel and Cai and the rest of the Nyoks, I did push through with my first film in a limited budget. I really can’t believe I was able to write, produce and direct the film. I wanted to join a short film festival that time, but I didn’t anticipate the fact that post-production is the most expensive and time-consuming part. My 24 minute debut film made me cry when i first saw it. I mean, yeah. I really cried T_T. I owned a new phone too and took a lot of camwhore pics with the nyoks. I bought a lot of domains that month which proved that i am an impulsive domain buyer lolz 😛

Krrunch Time in Uniquely Singapore with Nuffnang!

It’s been almost a week since I and the rest of the Nuffnang PH bloggers left the country for Singapore to attend the first-ever Nuffnang Blog Awards. It was a very memorable and extraordinary experience for all of us and to be honest, I am still overwhelmed with the whole experience.

Nuffies as Cyborgs at Singapore Flyer

I never taught that this actually happened. I just feel so blessed that I was able to spend the weekend at Singapore with free airfare, accommodation and tour! Spending more quality with your friends in a foreign land and making friends with other people made it extra special.

Anyway, I have too many things in mind to blog about in relation to this trip. I am still stunned everytime a co-blogger tags our photos together. I want to write a blog entry about our day to day experience, but its not enough so for now, I’ll be showing you a short preview through photos grabbed from my marvelous and gorgeous photographer friends:

Edge Coaster Experience at Crown Regency Hotel, Cebu City

One of the reasons why I am excited to go to the Queen City of the South is the chance to ride on the Edge Coaster. I’ve been hearing a lot of testimonials about it and I was able to watch some videos of the brave individuals who tried it out. Seeing the feature of the travel show Trip na Trip with Jayson and Franzen singing Kapantay ay Langit while riding made me really eager to try it out myself.

Last August 8, 2009 at exactly 4:46PM with a windy weather, McBilly and I successfully completed the ride on the World’s First and Only Edge Coaster at the 38th level of outer-rim of Crown Regency Hotel and Towers, the tallest hotel tower in the country, standing 40 storey’s high at Fuente Osmena. (that’s according to our certificate teehee).

i.PH Powerpuff Reunion

Cai Maki Mica . Mica Maki Cai. Maki Cai Mica . Maki Mica Cai.

If you’re thinking that I am trying to make my own tongue twister here, then you’re wrong.

I started out blogging actively in Livejournal back in 2004. After two years, I decided to make my own public account at i.pH after browsing Sexy Nomad’s blog.

I met a lot of  i.ph bloggers way back in early 2007. The interface is user-friendly and even the other i.phers were happy to be with virtually.
