Movie Review: So It’s You

First attempt: Originally planned to watch the movie in Manila alone when one of my friends convinced me to watch ‘Last Vegas’ instead so we can go to the cinema together when we’re both available.

One of my favorite moments in the movie. Sana ako na lang si Carla :))

Second Attempt: My friend Ruby and I were already in Robinson’s Pangasinan when the lady at the cinema told me that Cinema 1 encountered a technical glitch and that the movie won’t be shown that day. I even asked if they can move the film to Cinema 2, 3 or 4, but they couldn’t do it since Spiderman, Godzilla and a horror film had moviegoers on it already.

I was a bit frustrated because I really want to watch it. I am not a super duper big fan of any of the cast members, but the trailer is just too cool! I want to watch a romance-comedy and Jun Lana is one of my favorite directors, whether that’s a mainstream or indie movie project.

Third Attempt: Spent the weekend in Davao for the Davao Food Appreciation Tour. I was pleased when I saw ‘So It’s You’ on the list of movies shown at SM Lanang Premier. The gang decided to watch ‘The Other Woman’ on Monday night and I was determined to watch ‘So It’s You’ on Tuesday afternoon before my flight back to Manila.  What is dedication? Haha!

So there. I bought my ticket and went straight to a vacant seat.

Havey na Havey: WeChat’s Sticker Gallery

The Philippines is known for having 11 recognized languages and around 175 dialects spoken throughout the 7, 107 islands. Apart from that, pop culture known as ‘Filipino’ slang is widely used by Filipinos especially the yuppies and those who love watching noontime shows. However, are you in need of Chinese language services, then look no further than this Standard Chinese language interpretation here for great help!

WeChat-Sticker-Pinoy

Filipino slang is highly dynamic compared to the usual colloquialisms and allows for more freedom of expression among its speakers. Words and phrases don’t follow a standardized set of rules and can flow from Taglish to celebrity names to gay lingo or be a mix of all set with new meanings in different contexts.

Love Never Felt So Good!

Almost five years after the King of Pop Michael Jackson passed away, a new album suddenly emerged on iTunes.

[youtube=://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG08ukJPtR8&w=560&h=315]

Simply called ‘Xscape‘, the ‘new’ album showcases some unheard and unreleased tracks that was customized by collaborators. It is such a joy to discover that a collaboration between Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake happened. Among the male popstars today, I think only Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars are worth tagging as the ‘Prince of Pop’.

This feel-good song originally recorded in 1983 (I wasn’t born yet!) made me smile and dance when I heard it for the first time. The power of a true artist is so strong and it is just unbelievable that hearing MJ’s voice automatically puts every fan in a positive mood.

I have another reason to be happy with this new release. Lalala Love never felt soooo goood! 😀

Sorry for this very short post. I still have some backlogs to work on related to my birthday and other important things, but I am just too eager to share this one! 😀

Today is Mother’s Day in the Philippines! It is the time of the year wherein we give extra time and appreciation to our beloved mommy. In my case, I already greeted my mom a Happy Mother’s Day a few months back since the UK is celebrating this special day way ahead of the usual schedule.

Why ‘Diary ng Panget’ is worth-watching

Viva Films is doing something good lately. Aside from their usual collaboration with Star Cinema (Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis and Sarah Geronimo movies), they’re busy buying film rights to Pinoy best-selling novels. A few months ago, Bob Ong’s ABNKKBSNPLko?! was shown in cinemas nationwide. It reminded me of school days particularly high school. Although I have issues with the cast selection, I can say that the movie version was done well. Hirap kaya nun!

James Reid, why do you have such strong onscreen presence?

James Reid, why do you have such strong onscreen presence?

The Wattpad hit turned best-selling teen series ‘Diary ng Panget’ by HaveYouSeenThisGirl is the newest movie from Viva Films. It stars ‘newbies’ Nadine Lustre, James Reid, Yassi Pressman and Andre Paras with the help of Candy Pangilinan, Mitch Valdez and Gabby Concepcion.

When Viva Films announced their intentions of producing a movie version of ‘Diary ng Panget’, I got curious. Much more when I found out that it is written by a teenager. Lucky girl!

I bought a copy of the first book and yeah, I was entertained with its crazy antics.

Too Hot To Handle

“Ampetang!”

I woke up just in time for lunch last Friday. I travelled to Makati at 4PM to meet up with friends for dinner. I stayed in a coffee shop with the intention of working on online tasks as I wait for my pals to arrive. Ah, the perks of working at your own pace.

Lazy. Meh.

Lazy. Meh.

I seated on the table near the glass door because I had no choice. Typical Friday afternoon coffee shop scenario. I love the fact that there’s free wifi, but the unbearable heat caused by the sun just took a toll on me. Instead of focusing on blog-related tasks or PPT presentation, I end up chatting on Facebook ranting about the weather.

Bonding with friends over booze and ramen. Isn’t this how Friday nights are supposed to be spent?
