Two years ago, I met a Camille Prats look-alike at the afterparty of Wordcamp PH 2008. A common friend introduced me to her and i originally thought she’s one of the representatives of Nuffnang Philippines, which was about to launch in the country. I later on found out that she is friends with a number of Malaysian bloggers that’s why she knows some details about Nuffnang.

To be honest, I was a bit intimidated when I first saw her. She’s young, pretty, works in an international bank, she can drive cars (and men like crazy LOL), she’s updated with the latest gadgets, she’s sporty and she can sing and dance. Who wouldn’t be intimidated with this charmer, eh?!

Proud to be Dagupeño: Promoting Dagupan City’s Party Scene

Juxtapose and Bangus Ink, two newly-formed groups in Dagupan City recently organized an event called ‘Proud to be Dagupeno’. It is basically a rave party and outdoor photoshoot event. The organizers composed of young and talented Dagupenos aim to promote our city’s tourism by launching cool events such as this one.

I am also curious to see if they can surpass such challenge (majority of the group members are younger than me). Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point – Exploring La Union and The Point Residences Launch

The second day of our Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point experience is a hectic one. We were able to have a mini tour within the resort, the rest of the gang were able to surf in San Juan, had a quick La Union tour and the main event – The Point Residences Official Launch.

I woke up at around 7:30AM – and that’s already late! Instead of going straight to the breakfast buffet, I ended up surfing the net while I’m in bed 😛 Ruby and I went to the lobby by 8AM to meet up with the other bloggers. The marketing staff of Thunderbird Resorts gave us a quick tour while we’re riding at the golf carts.

One of the things that I noticed about Region 1 is the lack of boost when it comes to Tourism. Being a resident of Dagupan City, Pangasinan for more than twenty years, I am more than happy when I heard that a five-star resort is being developed in Poro Point, San Fernando, La Union and yep, it’s Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point!

On Saturday, a newly-organized group called ‘Juxtapose’ will be having their first event called ‘Proud to be Dagupeño: Rave Party and Photoshoot for a Cause’. It is a collaboration of photographers, make-up artists, stylists and event organizers who wishes to promote Dagupan City’s tourism through cool events such as this one. This is their first venture and I am quite excited for them!

On Wordcamp Philippines 2010 and Matt Mullenweg

Last October 2, 2010, WordPress users from different parts of the Philippines gathered at the College of Saint Benilde for the Wordcamp Philippines 2010. It is the 3rd Wordcamp in Metro Manila and my first time to be included in the list of speakers.

Months ago, Avatar Media asked me if I can do a talk regarding the Anatomy of a WordPress Blog, which is included at the Basic Track. I presented my straight-to-the-point slide to my students. I know that some of them find my talk a bit fast and too short, but I am happy that they openly asked questions and I hope I was able to answer them. Talking to some of them personally also made me feel a bit more comfortable and less worried 😀 Actually, I can see myself in some of them when I attended the first WordcampPH two years ago.

I’ll be honest here. I was thrilled about the Wordcamp  not mainly because of the talks. Wordcamp is actually a nice venue to interact with other bloggers and meet new friends. I met some of the readers of my blog who were not really posting any comments yet they are reading my daily whereabouts. The fact that some approached me about my Project52Weeks blog made my day 😀

Melting Me Slowly in Haagen Dazs Island – Caramel Biscuit Haven

Last Wednesday was pretty hectic yet memorable day for me. I wasn’t able to get some sleep because I had to work on some articles for my freelance writing gigs. Our call time for the shoot is 9:30AM at GNN’s new studio. I published my last article at 7:30AM. In short, I just ate breakfast and went straight to the guesting with a sleepyhead T_T.

On my way there, the taxi driver even asked me if i was able to catch some sleep. Maybe he noticed my eyebags and I was drinking a cold mocha drink while on the cab. Listening to a Filipino novelty song in the morning helps to keep me awake, i guess.

Just like a Grade One student who failed to do her assignment, I think I need to re-write the sentence ‘I Promise To Do My Assignment.’ many times for me not to forget to do my assignment. I am just happy though that all i need to do is highlight the whole sentence, press CTRL+C and then CTRL+ V 😛

Getting out of school doesn’t mean you don’t have any assignments to do, finish and submit to the right people. I am writing this list on my blog now as a reminder to myself and hopefully, i’d be able to accomplish everything before Saturday (or else I am soooo dead!)

Alaminos, Pangasinan – The Home of the Hundred Islands

Just last September 4, 2010, Kraft launched the world’s longest Christmas celebration with the Eden’s Sarap ng Pasko: 100 Days of Christmas. Last year, I was able to join the Kraft Keso de Gallo in Pampanga on the 4th of December. The new project for this year is twice the fun and the excitement!

What makes this project unique? Well, 100 towns from different parts of the Philippines presents their Unique Dish, and the top 9 cities with most votes will be recognized by 9 best recipes in 9 churches. The project slogan is : “100 Days. 100 Towns. 100 Unique Dishes.”

Since Dagupan City is not on the list, I will be supporting Alaminos City, Pangasinan this time. Familiar? It is the place where the world-famous Hundred Islands Natures Park is located. Alaminos City is also known for its seafoods and clean surroundings. On March 28, 2001, Alaminos was officially declared as the Fourth City of Pangasinan.

Good news to all mobile phone enthusiast residing in the Philippines! Globe recently announced that iPhone 4 is now available in the country!

I am not really addicted to mobile phones, but I am blogging about this because most of my friends change their phones more than once a year. Some of them even carry the newest phone units with them everywhere they go. They will surely love to add iPhone 4 in their collection.

iPhone 4 is now available in Glorietta and Greenbelt. On September 26, Globe will have a formal launch at the Makati Shangri-la  and New World Hotels, where the first customers who signed up via Globe’s website will be invited. The pricelist for iPhone will be posted soon on Globe’s website.
