I Love Britney Spears! Would You Hold it Against Me?

The Princess of Pop is back! The once teen queen turned pop icon Britney Spears is set to release her 7th studio album called ‘Femme Fatale’.

Britney Spears is back!

For the past few weeks, the die-hard fans of Britney had been tweeting about how excited they are with the first single ‘Hold it Against Me’. Britney Spears even had a short Twitter chat with her fans last week and her online team uploaded a number of video teasers. I’m glad that finally, the video is out!

Postcards from England: Postcard Exchange Project

I used to collect stamps when i was younger. I was influenced by my dad. He taught me how to remove the stamps in envelopes without destroying them. It was the time wherein I had penpals (yes i had some when i was in elementary!). I also ended up collecting some of the envelopes from my mom’s letters that was sent by her former workmates who tried their luck in countries such as Canada, UAE, UK, Italy, United States among others.

Postcards From England - Postcard Exchange Project

Right now, people seldom send letters, greeting cards or postcards via mail. Why spend some money buying writing materials and stamp if you can communicate by text, chat and email anyway?

When I arrived here in England, I saw a tourist holding her postcard album. She was telling her friend that she managed to collect those postcards by swapping with other collectors from different parts of the world. That’s when I get the idea of starting my own postcard collection.

‘To Be With You’ by Mr. Big

Last year, I got addicted to Mag:Net High Street’s Monday Rockeoke Nights. I blame it on Judd and Carlos of Nuffnang PH LOL. I declared Monday night as Rockeoke night during the first part of 2010. After my work in Quezon City, I would go home to eat quick dinner, dress up and go straight to Bonifacio High Street to jam with my friends.

I'm the one who wants to be with you...

Usually, songs like ‘Sweet Child of Mine’, ‘Alone’, ‘Creep’ and ‘With or Without You’  and ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ is on our song list. We would listen to Gabe Mercado, Wanggo Gallaga or Quark Henares as they threw punchlines after every performance.

One of the songs I usually perform on Rockeoke nights is Mr. Big’s ‘To Be With You‘. I remember Wanggo saying that it is a pub song and it is rare for a girl to sing the song onstage. Since the original version had male vocals on it, i sang my own version by switching the words ‘girl’ to ‘boy’. I’m glad that in my three attempts to sing the song live, i can say that i had a good performance and I think i am the only one who was brave enough to sing that song LOL.

On Angelo Reyes and His Shocking Death

I don’t really have any plans of blogging right now, but I found out that the Former Armed Forces Chief and Defense Secretary Angelo Reyes shot himself a few hours ago and is now pronounced dead. I am not really into Philippine Politics (it is much more scarier than the fictional horror stories with real-life monsters) and I am not really updated with his case.

RIP Angelo Reyes

A flash report posted on a reliable news website mentioned some of Angelo Reyes’ credentials. He seemed to be a very outstanding student and he was able to study in prestigious institutions. It is really sad that all his hardwork in building a name of his own was just thrown away – just like that.

Random Thoughts on the First Day of February

It’s February 2011! So what does that mean? The day of hearts is just around the corner. Lovers are already expected to do some plans just to show their love to their partners while the single ones (like me!) would rather consider February as the Single Awareness Month LOL πŸ˜›

Let's Get Love Drunk! It's February!

I don’t have any intentions of joining the Love Post bandwagon (ok, i’m lying then Haha), but I would like to share some of my random thoughts about February or specifically, on LOVE.

1. NEVER HAD A ROMANTIC VALENTINES DATE. Yes, at age 23, i never really had that candlelit dinner in a fancy restaurant or anything intimate to begin with on the 14th of February. You’d see me either working, hanging out with friends or just at home chatting with my friends online. I am not sure if this year will be a different one, but i am hoping. I am not expecting, but i am hoping. Expecting and Hoping are two different words, but i find it hard to differentiate them in a wider manner. Get me? No? K.

2. PROM DAY IN HIGH SCHOOL IS… not worth remembering either. Ok, it is worth remembering in a way. During our JS PROM when we were in ThirdYear, I couldn’t really remember who my first dance was. I can remember the last dance though since he was one of the most admired guys in school. He is a tall, chinito charmer who is also a gentleman. He ended up as my last dance partner because we swapped from another couple. I don’t want to elaborate LOL. The last prom night is quite special because most of my ‘adings’ from the Junior batch really approached me and danced with me. My last dance turned out to be my crush hehe. I ended up removing my shoes because i’m taller than him. I wanted to savour that moment so yes, i danced while holding my shoes πŸ˜› It is a moment worth turning into a short film.

The Things We Do For Love

The Things We Do For Love - Despite the Differences

LOVE is complicated. LOVE is unpredictable. LOVE is all about timing.

I am currently listening to the song ‘The Things We Do For Love’ by Lovers and Poets, one of my favorite indie duo that i accidentally discovered online. I even bought the full album because their songs are truly moving especially when i need to keep in touch with the ‘hopeless romantic’ in me.

I just realized that last year, I didn’t really update the Love’ category of this blog. Just like the previous years, i am still single and i am not desperately looking, but i won’t deny that i am longing for it.

Join Thunderbird Resorts’ Extraordinary Online Video Contest!

My trip to Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point in San Fernando, La Union was extraordinary. I was born and raised in Dagupan City in Pangasinan, which is just beside the province of La Union. Region 1 had a limited number of resorts for tourists who are looking for high-class accommodation way back. Now, the number of tourists is increasing due to the impressive Mediterranean-inspired destination.

As a sign of appreciation to their loyal online followers, Thunderbird Resorts recently launched a video contest called the ‘Extraordinary Online Video Contest‘. The prizes at stake are really great and i somewhat regret that i can’t possibly join this contest now :/ I am encouraging all of my online friends to join this contest and tag me along if you win HAHA just kidding (but please take that seriously LOL)

Quality Goals for 2011 (Realistic Version)

It’s the start of the new century and just like the previous years, a lot of people are writing their goals and resolutions for the new year. It is an ongoing tradition that we tend to forget once the calendar strikes at the month of February.

How will i make 2011 Extra Special?

Since i am bored and feeling a bit blah as i write this entry, i am listing down some of my Quality Goals for 2011. I will make it as realistic as possible. I’m glad that i did great last year and i am looking forward to grabbing more opportunities this year.

Now show me the bulleted list!

2010: Traveling and Enjoying Life to the Fullest!

Last year, i mentioned on my ‘Myx-ed 2010 Goals‘ that I’ll try my very best to go to England on my own. I was half serious about it and since going to any European country from the Philippines is not an easy one (with the visa application and the expensive airfare), i am very happy to say that i am now blogging from our home here in Rugby, Warwickshire in England πŸ˜€

Ending the year @ Winter Wonderland

2010 is the year of travel for me. I’ve been to different provinces (mostly first time), five countries and i became a bit more open-minded with a lot of stuff related to traveling and life in general. Like what i mentioned in one of my previous posts,”Life is a journey – Go and travel’. πŸ™‚

I’ll try to summarize my 2010 by month. Starting another yearender post makes me smile and thankful πŸ™‚

The Rizal Park 2010 Realization

‘When was the last time you went to Luneta Park?’ i asked myself moments before Bryan Karl, Jerome and I headed to the National Park of the Philippines after our Ocean Park trip. I can’t really remember the exact date, but i think it is sometime in 1995 or 1996. I insisted of going there because i saw it at our Sibika at Kultura textbook. As a fan of Jose Rizal’s greatness, the Little Mica got what she requested.

Flag Pole

Saan na tayo tutungo n'yan?

During our short trip to Luneta Park at the first weekend of October 2010, my mind was a bit messed up. I wasn’t even sure if we were already in Luneta not until I saw Dr. Jose Rizal’s statue, where the guards are standing there with pokerface. Too bad we weren’t allowed to take a closer picture with them. We’ll cause too much distraction, i bet.
