Have Baby, Will Blog

Were you able to read the Summit Media book Have Baby, Will Date? Or were you able to catch the TV version of the said chicklit on TV5 where Valerie Concepcion played the lead role? Well, any of the two mentioned  has nothing to do with this blog entry LOL πŸ˜›

Last Saturday, Ada and I went to Greenhills after our shoot for Tek Tok TV. We found out that Hannah’s scheduled to host a seminar somewhere in Promenade Mall and since we have nothing to do, we decided to take a sneak peak at the event.

Keep that in mind, dear parents!

We saw Carlo Ople talking in front while Sir Sonny invited us to join. I then found out that it is a Cyber Safety Campaign for Parents seminar. Obviously, we didn’t really have plans of staying since it is a seminar designed for parents. Carlo’s talk somewhat caught my attention because he was speaking about online gaming addiction when we came in. We decided to stay πŸ˜›

The next speaker that day is Sir Sonny, who then discussed about keeping your kids safe from possible harm that can be seen online. He narrated how he gained his son’s trust and vice versa. He also emphasized on the importance of building that ‘offline’ connection with your kids. Spending time with them and being a role model to them is the most effective way of teaching a little kid. It somewhat reminded me on how I was brought up by my parents.

When I was in elementary, I am frequently seen in the library reading books and I kept on borrowing them just for the sake of having my library card filled out LOL. These days, kids rely on the internet for their research and assignments. Everything works in an instant and technology is the one to thank (or to blame?) because we can now access information in just a snap.

All throughout the talk, I was quiet at my seat. I remember Ada asking me from time to time ‘Huy, anong iniisip mo?’, ‘Oi badet bakit tahimik ka?’ ‘Inaantok ka na ‘noh?’ – Ang Kulit eh haha but well.. what was i really thinking while at my seat?

See, I am already 23 years old. In fact, I am already in the marrying age. I have a stable job and yes, i can produce a baby now LOL. A cousin of mine gave birth last Sunday and we’re at the same age so yeah, basically i am now capable of making babies. Plenty of babies!

But errr… I dunno. Am I ready to really have one? Financially, I can say I am now capable of supporting a little kid’s needs with the help of the father. Physically, I also am (with a sexy yet healthy body like mine LOL!) but Emotionally, I don’t think I am. Mentally too.

Then I thought of these scenarios:

When You’re Used To Being Alone

The photo below was taken thru self-timer. I have a nice and cozy room, right? This is my room at Microtel during my overnight stay in Baguio. I stayed in a room good for two yet I am the only one who occupied that big room.

Baguio_Room_Alone
Alone in a Hotel Room for Two – AGAIN

See, I am used to being alone – travelling, working, eating and all other tasks. I know a number of people who would rather stay in one place with someone than ride a bus or take the plane alone. I also know a number of individuals who would rather bring baon or not eat at all than to eat alone in public. I can pinpoint some people at the workplace or in school who would rather work with other people than do some tasks alone. I am the exception to all these.

Doing things on my own gives me the sense of accomplishment. I feel like I am independent and that I can function by myself. I learned not to depend on other people for me to be productive. Past experiences also taught me not to do things solely for one person. If you want to do something, do not let a certain person push you up or pull you down. Of course, a little inspiration will help, but depending on someone all the time will mess up things later on. Believe me. Building your confidence from within, with support from wellness-focused brands like Fly High Seeds, can help you stay grounded and motivated on your own terms as they offer products like Marijuana seeds and many more.

Ok, I can rant and rant about being alone here and how good I am on handling it. But I have a confession to make:

I’m so tired of being alone – literally.

When a Sleepy Head Doodles

Even if i have a laptop with me where i can keep soft copies of my thoughts, i still keep a number of notebooks with me. Ever since I was in elementary, I have this habit of reusing some of my school notebooks for doodling. If ever you saw a notebook with my name on it but there’s no doodle at the back, most probably that is not mine.

After the surprise kiddie party my friends prepared for me on my twenty third birthday, i managed to write a doodle on my ‘notebook of the month’. With my red ballpen that I use for proofreading, i wrote some of the things i want to do now that i am 23 years old. There’s something special about turning twenty three and i can’t really explain why. I remember a blogger friend from Livejournal telling me when I was 18 that my 23rd year in planet earth will be a very exciting one. I won’t tell on which specific part of my life that will be, but your guess is as good as mine.

Want to see the doodle? Ok here it is LOL:

Sleepy Mica Doodles

(Forgive me with my poor penmanship. I iz sleepy LOL)

What I wrote there is not arranged in chronological order, but let me explain every point LOL.

SAWI: Single Awareness Weekend Internalization

While most of the single ladies ended up weeping in their homes while watching romantic movies or reading romance novels, I ended up being busy on the so-called ‘Valentine Weekend’.

Laging Bigo, Laging SAWI sa Pag-Ibig... Charot!

Laging Bigo, Laging SAWI sa Pag-Ibig... Charot!

Let’s start with Friday. Unlike most people of the corporate work force, I consider Friday as my rest day. I ended up waking up at 3pm and I eventually went to Makati to claim the Ayala GC I won from a contest late last year. I took advantage of the fact that I am already in Glorietta. I ended up spending the credits of the GC. I bought items from Bench and… yeah, i spent it all at Bench LOL.

Random Thoughts of a Risk Taker

micamyx_2010

Taking another risk with your consent

“How’s your new project?” lolo asked me when I was reviewing the first draft of my project.

“It’s fine. I’m quite happy with the first draft. I can’t wait to add the other elements to see the final output.” i replied with a happy face.

“That’s good, but can you do me a favor? I hope you’d learn to save up after you finish that project of yours. I know you worked hard for that. Producing something like that can be physically, emotionally and financially draining. I know it’s your money but – ”

(Here we go again)

MYX-ed Plans and Goals for 2010

I have three planners beside my laptop as I type this entry – one is the red 2009 Starbucks Planner that I used last year (which now acts as my mousepad), the 2010 Starbucks Planner (which I claimed before at the third week of November) and the 2010 Belle de Jour Planner I bought from Powerbooks last weekend. To be honest, I am still itching to get the 2010 This Journal Will Actually Change Someone’s Life because of the interesting holidays written in there and organized layout as I’ve seen in Jade’s house last month.

What are my Plans and Goals for 2010? May this planner help me.

What are my Plans and Goals for 2010? May this planner help me.

Too many planners, eh? I guess having a number of planners is perfectly fine as long as you use them. I decided to use the Belle de Jour Planner for appointments and important details and the Starbucks Planner for my expenses (i badly need this T_T).

What is the use of having a planner if you don’t really have any goals at all? Ano yan, display? Of course not πŸ˜› I recently came up with a list of my Plans and Goals for the Year of the Tiger. I don’t really want to make a New Year’s Resolution since I tend to break them immediately. Maybe listing down your goals and plans for 2010 will be better, right?

Bittersweet November

Bittersweet November - Just like a box of assorted chocolates

On my so-called secret blog, I wrote an entry about the heartaches the month of November gave me on the first week. Let’s just say that things didn’t go my way. Expectations and goals were not met. I even ranted that November has always been a bad month for me.

But I was wrong.

This month is about to end, but before I say hello to December, I would like to share some of my realizations made in the past few weeks….

Letting Go and Moving On

A few hours ago, a female close friend and i spent the night talking about how frustrated i am in accomplishing a lot of task. See, I want to do a lot of things. I want to do a lot of projects. I want to write new scripts. I want to produce new short films. I want to attend cooking classes. I want to update my neglected blogs. I want to take up driving lessons. I want to go to Dagupan and just spend the weekend with my grandparents. I want a new laptop. I want a new dress. I want to go to the derma. I want to have my hair fixed. I want to try a new sport. I want to try a lot of things. So many things to do, so little time. So many ideas, so little funds.

Letting Go and Moving On

Where should i go?

I think I am in the stage wherein i am trying to figure out which should i do first. I am a very artistic person (or should i say i believe i am) and i’ve been going through a lot of frustrations lately mostly related to my plans. I want to pursue a lot of things that i end up getting worried or upset. The worst thing there is i had no one to talk to. Yes, my blogger friends are online all the time, but meh, face-to-face interaction is still different.

Filling Empty Spaces

Sandra Bullock in All About Steve

We have a natural compulsion to fill empty spaces. – Sandra Bullock as Mary, All About Steve

——————————————————————————–

I have to fill this empty space later. I’m still at work but I really want to blog about it ASAP.

Again, I will fill this empty space tonight.

After 15 hours, I’ll update this part.

Filling empty spaces can be compared to a crossword and i’m sleepy. It’s 7:30AM

I think its about time that I update this part for real πŸ˜€

Last week, I got the chance to attend the Philippine movie premiere of All About Steve at Glorietta 4 Cinema 5 together with my officemates. Our editor invited me the last minute and even asked me to invite some friends. I didn’t want to go at first, but meh, free dinner and movie tickets to a Sandra Bullock movie? Why not?

Deadlines

Deadlines. Dead lines.Don’t you just love beating deadlines? It is the timeframe you impose to yourself on how long a specific task must be completed. I remember asking my teachers to extend the deadline of our projects and assignments way back in high school. We were trained to submit everything on the dot or else we will be suffering the consequences.

You Have a Deadline to Beat. Stop Plurking!

You Have a Deadline to Beat. Stop Plurking!

As a student, I always thought that i’ll be able to escape from this deadline thing once I step out of school, but no. On my first home-based job as a virtual assistant, I was trained by my superiors to finish all my tasks (including daily reports) on a certain time. We rarely had extentions. I thought I could bum around as a work-at-home lady, but no. Thinking about a certain deadline before sleeping and being reminded asap when you wake up is somewhat similar to a nightmare especially if you find your task uninteresting.
