Fil-Italian actress Alessandra de Rossi doesn’t need to prove herself in terms of acting. With a number of Best Actress & Best Supporting Actress awards and nominations under her belt, she is truly one of the most versatile performers in the Philippine showbiz industry. She is one of the few stars who can do mainstream and independent films at the same time. You always see her on TV either making the life of the protagonist as miserable as hell or she’ll make her life with her badet antics.
She is also a well-loved personality on Twitter (@msderossi) together with her Yaya. I guess the tag ‘Babaeng Bakla’ perfectly suits her. Playing the role of the street smart Bernadette in Legacy, it seems like she was able to pull of an antagonist role yet instead of despising her wrongdoings, you just can’t help but laugh and be endeared with her charm.
Anyway, did you know that Alessandra de Rossi is also a singer/composer?
A few years ago, she appeared on the cover of FHM Philippines. Although her sister Assunta de Rossi is a legendary FHM icon (the first FHM Philippines Calendar Girl), Alex would rather project a ‘wholesome’ image. When the said men’s magazine asked her for the nth time if she can grace one of their issues, she gave her go signal as long as the said publication will help her promote the music video of her rendition of the song ‘Sailing’.
With that being said, Alex started collaborating with other musicians so she can come up with an original material. She became an active Tumblr user and even had a number of YouTube accounts under her name, where she uploaded some of her works. In fairness, her music is good! Perfect soundtrack for traveling, I can say.
Here are some of Alessandra de Rossi’s song from the long-delayed debut album ‘Adrift’.
MAKE IT BETTER
My favorite among her released songs is ‘Dream to Me’. Unfortunately, the uploader removed it 🙁
I will definitely miss Alex on primetime as my favorite TV show Legacy is about to end soon. I think GMA-7 is brewing another project for her and she is also set to appear in a Cinemalaya 2012 film. I also hope that her dream of producing a full-length album will come true soon. Goodluck to you, Alex!
