Visita Iglesia for Semana Santa

Holy Week 2010 is fast-approaching! Surely, most of you are going out-of-town with your loved ones though some might just stay at home. Aside from the fact that people tend to consider this as a good break from work, it is also a special week that we dedicate to our Creator.

Last week, I had the chance to have my early ‘Visita Iglesia’ in Cebu. We went to seven beautiful churches and I am truly amazed on how it was maintained throughout the years.

It has been a tradition in the Philipines to have the yearly Visita Iglesia during Semana Santa. Devotees usually go to different churches, light candles, say a little prayer and state their wish. The Visita Iglesia I did in Cebu is my first time ever.

I have no plans yet for this Holy Week break. A friend of mine gave me a link to Griffin Sierra Travel Inc. and encourage me to Visit the Philippines baroque churches this Visita Iglesia . Why not? It is a perfect chance for me to take shots on the different baroque churches and at the same time devote time to say Thank You. I will ask some friends of they’re intereste. I’ll be more than happy to see this plan turn into a reality this Semana Santa. :)
